Storming the field

Should it happen all the time? Absolutely not.
Is it one of the things that makes college football better than the NFL? Absolutely.
TN fans at last week's game were justified to storm the field. It made for a great scene and is something you will only see at a college football game.
You football snobs that are totally against it should probably lighten up or switch to the NFL. Something tells me that those most opposed to it are sidewalk fans with zero college experiences to reminisce over, no offense meant....well maybe a little offense meant.

Yep.. it’s part of CFB and has been for a long time. People defending him and using “she shouldn’t have been there” as an excuse are complete pieces of shite

Bet they wouldn’t say that if it was their wife or daughter “in a place they shouldn’t be “

I’ve attended one game where fans stormed the field, UGA v UT 2000. It was the end of a 10 game streak of UT wins in the series. I didn’t storm the field and felt the situation was very dangerous for everyone in the stadium. I sat and watched in amazement. Only time UGA has ever stormed the field like that I know of…

You're right. They wouldn't. Assuming they're reasonable people. The ones saying she asked for it or something to that effect, I really wish would leave the fanbase. But I also wish that same type would leave every fanbase.

It’s only a problem when Bama loses or when their players beat up the women of opposing teams.

Still brings a tear to my eye

It is something I would absolutely never be a part of….but it is something that should absolutely happen under the right conditions

I was at our 2010 game vs. #1 OK. We stormed Faurot after we won and I felt no danger at any time. In fact, I didn't feel much of anything after the sun went down that evening.

I believe a girl was injured when our goal posts came down in 2000. By danger I mean people being trampled, or crushed or falling down the aisles rushing to the field. I ended up helping some kid get up who fell. I was sitting in nice seats near the 45 in the lower level and it seemed like 20-40k people came by us on their way to the field. Wife and I just sat and watched til things calmed down.

Agreed - I don’t mind seeing college kids get the full experience of a big win. People defending the player are out of line.

Lol. Who did you guys beat? I'm blind and can't make out their emblem.

Storming the field
It's a loser's mentality to celebrate in this way. If you assume you're going to win, you celebrate differently. Crowds that storm the field believed they were going to lose before the game started. Storming the field isn't ecstacy. It's relief.
It's about expectations really. The expectation to always win makes storming the field a ridiculous concept.
The expectation to lose, brings an enormous sense of relief in the immediate wake of victory. If you have 90+k people in a stadium with the expectation of losing, and they pull out a victory, you get what happened in Knoxville. People cutting the grass out of the end zone, the tearing down of the goal posts. It's pure relief from having your hope realized that maybe, just maybe, the expectation of losing is beginning to fade.
There's a reason BAMA and UGA have never done it. Oh wait...
There's also a reason that most of the SEC teams last time they rushed the field, it was a win over BAMA.

Bama fans need to learn how to have fun. Of all the fields stormed, this is the first one with an incident. Maybe if y’all threw a goalpost into the Black Warrior you might enjoy life more. At least for that moment.

Guess again. And I was a student during the 3 Mikes coaching years.
No go storm the kitchen for a warm glass of STFU.
