The only Bama teams that were good at those things were 2009 and 2016 Bama and both teams were severely hampered by their QB play.

Didn't '15 score some non-offensive td's too? I think the way Coker was playing at the end of the year plus Derrick Henry running could play keep away and play D well enough to compete with this year's Bama squad

I don't think I'll ever have a single upvote to give to an OSU poster. Like ever.

I would be a lot more hopeful if we had a stronger d line. I just don’t think they’ll get to Tua.

It’s also unfortunate that we don’t have a 5 star running back for once. I realize LF never did anything against Bama, but at least he was capable if he had any room to run, which we might have against this Bama D and with a QB like Burrow.

You never know what’s going to happen once they suit up, but on paper this doesn’t look winnable.

One thing is that it’s not very likely that Tua is actually a perfect QB at 20 years old. He’s bound to make a mistake sometime. Right?

Formula for beating this Bama team. Run on them, score, control the clock, cut the game short and keep Tua on the side line as much as possible. You do not need to play the perfect game, you just need to play ball control and score points. When they are on the field, get some pressure on him with your front 4 and keep his throwing windows really small. Games like that you usually only have to stop a team once or twice on a series to win.

Going by what we’ve seen so far, you pretty much do.

That’s why we always play so conservative against Bama. Our coaches think playing the perfect game means not taking risks. But we’ll have to take risks and have them pay off or they’ll do what they’ve done to us for years, except this time with a great QB.

Alabama's defense is not as strong as other years, but I don't think this year's Alabama defense is so bad that LSU will score every time they get the ball

As noted in this and other threads, the UA front 7 isn't as dominating this year as those during Fournette's tenure. He would probably have a good game vs this defense.

every.single.year we hear this. "You know just get positive yards, convert third downs, force Tua into interceptions and boom you win the game." or some variation. Last year it was "Just put a spy on Jalen and dont let him beat you with his legs. Shut down Bama's running game" Well yeah but how do you do those things?

It's still fun to hop on here and throw some facts in yalls fantasy every now and then. Especially when yall think yall and Saban have everyone fooled over the cheating or that beating Saban takes anything more than even talent, so much so that yall rush to the board with yalls alters to down vote.

Bama hasn't played Base D yet for a game. We will see them in that D for the LSU game. So we don't really know yet how good the front 7 is.
