And?
The criticism over this young man is a irrational. If Bennett were a 4/5* recruit , he'd be the front runner for the Heisman, not just a finalist with a very improbable chance at winning.
The kid is everything we hope CFB produces, yet that's not good enough for some of the boo-birds.

Bryce won the heisman his first year
Did not even receive an invittto nyc this year
He is regressing like the entire Bama program

But you see…he’s a very old man relative to most college players.

I agree Stetson is a great example of working hard and never giving up. But I don't think we can call him a kid anymore.

Well, uhh, no. 25 year old QBs going on their sixth year of eligibility are certainly not traditional.
There have been some examples of Heisman winners and finalists who were much older than their peers. The most famous are Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden.

I wasn’t pretending to be 19.

Stetson Bennett is 25 years old, how is he still in college? Did he fail a bunch of classes?
He was 19 as a freshman I believe and with taking a redshirt his freshman season and covid year he’s in his 6th year.

Haven't watched much football have you?
At BYU, Bennett would still be one of the young pups on the team.
And then you have the guys who try baseball out of HS then return to a football scholarship. For example, Quincy Carter was a 21 year old Freshman at UGA.
Having older players isn't exactly "new". Chris Weinke was a 25 year old freshman due to baseball. Brandon Weeden was 28 when he was drafted.

If anyone had actually read the actual Hiesman criteria, and not what the media says it is, Bennet fits it perfectly. He won't win, but there's nothing wrong with him being there.
In many ways he's what most of us hope college football could be, knowing it never was and never will be.

I didn't say it was new. I said it's not traditional, and just because there are some examples of it (which I acknowledged and you conveniently ignored), doesn't mean it is. It's not the norm. The overwhelming majority of college football players are under the age of 22.
