State Senator says 'heads need to roll' at LSU (247Sports)
quote:

The LSU case continues as Louisiana State Senator Karen Carter Peterson demanded change at the university over the sexual assault case involving former LSU running back Derrius Guice. State officials are looking into a subpoena for current head coach Ed Orgeron despite his letter to the state regarding previous instances earlier this month.

According to a tweet from The Athletic’s Brody Miller, Peterson called out the lack of action from the school in regards to certain officials remaining in their current jobs. She added that she was confident the system is going to change. Peterson also called for firings during the Senate meeting.

“State Sen. Karen Carter Peterson asks if anything is being done to provide consequences or take action as nobody has been fired,” Miller tweeted.

“DeCuir says ‘We are not trying to simply fix one incident of bad behavior ... We had a system for handling Title IX problems’ that was problematic... "

Peterson says everything that has become known ‘warrants dismissal... There was a cover up.’... (more)

Segar and Ausberry and anyone else found to be involved should be fired in my opinion.

They seem to be the major players right now.

Except they were actually the ones committing the wrongdoing based on what we've seen so far.

Pretty much all of the issues have been caused by their inability to handle the allegations correctly.

Along with the tennis coaches of course.

Back in March, LSU announced that assistant AD Verge Ausberry was suspended for 30 days and assistant AD Miriam Segar was suspended for 21 days. The announcement came as LSU released an extensive report by the firm Husch Blackwell that revealed findings from an independent investigation of how LSU handled allegations of sexual and domestic assault in years past.

They are being suspended based on Husch Blackwell's findings which stated both have failed to properly handle reports of sexual misconduct and domestic violence among student-athletes. Ausberry and Segar will be required to undergo training in regard to how to deal with domestic and sexual violence.

The investigation also found that LSU's Title IX office, which is meant to handle cases of sexual assault and domestic violence, has been under-resourced and understaffed for years.

Ausberry, Segar, and Woodward should all be gone at a minimum. All three tried to cover everything up.
