Hell, one of the biggest sham investigations ever was the Larry Gillard investigation that was somehow tipped off.
Over one suit of clothes. Bob Tyler was overly aggressive in fighting the thing with the NCAA but looking back Gillard (although a good player) probably should have sat until settled. Too long ago to remember all of the details but it was way over played by the NCAA. Ridiculous what they did to us.

The beatdown the Longhorns gave the cheaters at Ann Arbor could look like a nail biter to what they could do to State this weekend

It's bad. We've caught some really shitty breaks over the last couple of years.

The only silver lining is that we got to rock bottom, really quickly. Building back will take some time, but at least we didn't go through a long drawn out 3-year spiraling similar to the one that ended Jackie Sherrill's tenure.

We have a young head coach in place now, that despite his struggles so far, has shown some promise in recruiting. If he can get some traction in the portal, things can turn around quickly.

How he manages his staff this offseason will be telling, on defense specifically.

This. There’s a handful of great posters I’d love to watch the egg bowl with and get shitfaced.

But there’s a LARGE majority I’ve met that are giant asscocks. People like Rosebowl deserve this.

Yeah but I can honestly say the same thing about Ole Miss too.

That’s pretty much the details. He got a discount that every student got, and the cashier probably didn’t even know he was a football player. Just a student.

If you sit him, you punish a student for getting what every student got. You essentially rob him of two years of his eligibility for basically nothing.

Tyler kept playing him thinking that there was no friggen way that abomination gets sustained. Well…. It is the NCAA after all. Damn cashiers should know the faces and names of all football players to cancel out their own student discount.

The Gillard deal was the biggest sham in the history of the NCAA. I still consider all those wins as wins. It was ridiculous then now looking back it is even worse.

Steve Robertson is the face of MSU sports media. That tells you all you need to know about that program.

Give it a break. Ole Miss has pulled way more **** than State has ever done over the decades. But I don’t have any ill will towards Ole Miss in the current day. It’s better for Mississippi for both of us to be strong in all sports.
Things are tough right now but we will be better in due time and back to our winning ways.

What have we done?

Mullen made the rivalry a tinderbox and Rosebowl made it personal and wrote a book about it. 3 of your players did immunity interviews with the NCAA to get us hammered.

frick your whole athletic department. Yall were the crab pulling us back down into the bucket. We are out now. Good luck to you. You’re going to need it.

I'll always appreciate Leach for reducing the toxicity in our rivalry that mullen had built. For that and many other reasons he is certainly missed.

So just to summarize the Ole Miss narrative in this thread:

-Ole Miss has always been a championship level team… MSU just held you back from the 1960’s to present day because of snitching to the NCAA.

-All Ole Miss fans are inviting and pleasant to MSU fans… but most MSU fans are assholes to Ole Miss fans.

-No MSU investigation has ever been initiated or aided by Ole Miss admin or alumni.. but every Ole Miss investigation was initiated or aided by MSU admin or alumni.

-Every single drop of toxicity between Ole Miss and MSU lands squarely on the shoulders of Dan Mullen and Dan Mullen only… including said toxicity before and after he left.

-MSU only fired Joe Morehead due to Lane Kiffin and absolutely not because players were fighting each other and off the field issues were at a boiling point.

-MSU is the only team in the state that has douchebag fan site writers.

Anything else we need to accept and correct?

bullshite. State went on a public witch hunt to try to kill our program for a decade. It almost worked until we finally hired competent ppl in the correct departments and the fans bought in at the perfect time.

I used to have that same mentality, but frick that. Y’all deserve this shite.

State is a bunch of snitches and have historically kept Ole Miss below where they should be.

You might can think a little clearer if you wipe that shite of your nose.

The portal should make it easier to climb out of this but this year will be TOUGH. DC has to go. An ASU player whom we played two weeks ago said MsU run defense scheme was the worst he had ever seen

The thing about karma is what comes around goes around with State/ole miss for at least the last 40 or so years.
