Amazing to me that Mississippi State fans and alumni have the gall to pretend they’re better than anyone.

Isn't that what BAMA fans do though????

Bama fans and alumni have things to tie their pretentiousness to. Mississippi State has not won a single national championship in any NCAA sanctioned sport in their entire 120 year existence, and their university routinely ranks dead last in the SEC academically by every measurable analysis.

I read through most of that thread on Twitter. Amazing to me that Mississippi State fans and alumni have the gall to pretend they’re better than anyone.

do you even know any MSU grads? It's not like they are all backwoods idiots. Very similar to any other grads of SEC schools. Closest to probably Bama and Ole Miss, honestly. I work with a few of them.

Its exactly what they do. I grew up just outside Tuscaloosa in one of the rural counties. I have a terminal degree, a professional job, a beautiful wife and a good life overall.

I went to high school with trash that never amounted to anything, and they think they are better than me because they cheer for a school they never attended. One of these losers won tickets to the Colorado State game earlier this year and called it the best experience of his life.

But fans who did not attend the school being assholes about it is the problem.

Mississippi State (and Ole Miss) routinely ranks dead last in the SEC academically because the federal courts killed the admission standards. They were both middle of the pack academically (higher than Alabama) prior to the Ayers decision.

The Ayers decision stated that all public universities in MS had to have the same admission standards. Since the HBCUs require a pulse to get in, so does State and Ole Miss. This brings down the average GPA and ACT of freshmen, a metric used in these rankings. These losers flunk out of State and Ole Miss within a year, which brings down retention, another metric used.

Alabama and Auburn would be the same way if the feds tied a millstone to their necks like they did MSU and Ole Miss, and you know it.

Personally, my degree from MSU prepared me well. Much better than not going to Alabama and feeling better about the football team.

I know several. I spent about a year in east Mississippi after graduating college. Saw plenty of “sidewalk fans” for both MSU and Ole Miss, and worked with several grads from both schools. Anyone associated with either of those schools - particularly MSU - who feels they’re better than someone like Stingray is completely lost.

why?

He's a non MSU grad who rants and raves on youtube for attention. I find it amusing, but I could see where some MSU fans would be annoyed by it.

Mississippi State and Ole Miss has one thing in common with schools like Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.
We just don't have many sidewalk fans.

There's a running joke that MSU has two sidewalk fans. They just happen to be Stingray and Candy Man.

Lot of truth to this. Vandy has The Whistler and Vandy Lance...

He’s a grad of much more prestigious University on multiple levels - choosing to pull for MSU because he loves the community and school. They should feel honored they’re getting any recognition at all.

Yup.

If anything, tosh got more jabs in at Alabama and Nick Saban than he did at Stingray. I don't think he even made fun of Mississippi State at all. I actually gained more respect for Stingray after his tosh.0 episode.

I'm willing to bet it would surprise you, but that must be the pretentious a-hole State fan in me, right?

Seems like a decent enough guy. Self-deprecating, good sense of humor.

There are a lot of assholes on this board.

This thread isn’t about OP or me. It’s about a huge chunk of your lowlife fan base pretending they’re better than Stingray.

He's okay by me. The most vocal people are always the idiots on twitter and the internet.

I mean, we have hundreds of thousands of alum (I think it's around 600k?), and these guys are pointing to, what, a few dozen examples?
