I've been reading where he beat Carson Palmer's high school passing record. The guy looks like he could be a perfect fit for the Pirate's offense...big body, big arm, high IQ

He’s going to trigger a lot of LSU fans this season.

Really good 2018 season with Stanford. He got hurt in 2019 and lost his job. I watched some highlights. I don't know if this is good or not but he places the ball high and the WR goes to get the ball. The only thing negative that I heard is that he throws the ball too hard sometimes. Leach said that he has performed well the last few practices and scrimmage.

The insiders are saying he looks great. May have too much arm into some throws that will not allow receivers to catch and run.

No one at State is worried about the offense. Most of us are terrified about the defense. But that's what you expect with Leach, right?

The first game I remember watching him was in the 2017 Pac-12 Championship game against USC. They only lost by 3 but it would've been by much more if Costello did not had the game he had.

Was slinging it up and down the field against a supremely talented SC defense for a Stanford offense that is not a pass-happy attack to say the least.

Going to be a monster in Leach's system. Will work himself into 1st-2nd round draft discussion.

Leach has not had a QB drafted higher than the 6th round as a head coach.

He had exactly one higher than 6th round as a coordinator. That was Tim Couch in 1998/1999.

Costello was already a late round guy. Playing in Leach's offense will increase his stock.

Gardner Minshew went from looking to get into coaching to a late round pick and NFL starter.

I’ve seen a few people compare his attributes to Drew Lock. Not entirely sure how to take that.

It doesn't feel like a Tommy Stevens situation where you're bringing in somebody totally unproven and expecting them to be good. Costello threw for 6,000 yards and 49 TD's in the equivalent of two full seasons as a starter. And that was in a pro style offense that isn't nearly as pass happy as the one he is about to join.

We'll see what that translates to in the SEC. I'm still iffy on the receivers he has to work with, but I think having Kylin Hill in the backfield with him is definitely a big help. And State's OL should be pretty good this year too.

I think he will be a lot of fun to watch in this offense even if State is only a 3 to 5 win team this year. Too many defensive questions to think they'll be much more than that, but Costello and this system should at least make for entertaining football.

Nothing about Leach’s career suggests that. Big numbers? Sure. Exciting offense? Definitely. Producing NFL QBs? Nope.

Gardner Minshew was going to transfer to Bama in order to learn under Saban and get into coaching.

Leach came through and offered him the job, he puts up huge numbers, gets drafted and now is a starting QB in the NFL.

KJ Costello is a proven QB at the P5 level that would have been a 4th-6th rd pick in this years draft. A year with Leach and he will improve his stock.

He’s beat out 2 other talented athletes for QB1.

If he can consistently get the ball to skill position players, then Leach’s system is installed, and our offense should be fine.

I’m a little concerned about our defense.

Go look at leach's quarterback history and the NFL. A disaster. Minchew is too early to declare. I won't be watching so you can inform us nonwoke folk.

You aren’t terrorizing anyone.
You are the guy who isn’t watching a football game because you are afraid you will hear a differing political opinion. You are such a loser.
