You forgot the part where Florida was also better at getting the refs to do everything they could to ensure a win

Arky has to beat UF sometime or another.

Auburn.. from long touchdowns called back under Tuberville.. to magical fumbles that didn't happen under Chizik to all the other random bullshite under Gus.
Auburn is a perennial 6-6 team with a lot of lucky bounces.

As amazing as that 2014 comeback was, Barnett got away with that PF on 3rd down. If that gets called, game over

For Georgia, I feel like its South Carolina. While some of their wins were not necessarily "lucky" against us, it does seem like they have our number more often than they should.
Somehow the Gamecocks have beaten us 9 times since joining the SEC. I would say there have only been two seasons in which South Carolina for sure had the better team (2010 and 2013). There were probably two or three other seasons in which there was very little difference. Otherwise, Georgia is usually the better team every time we've taken the field against the Gamecocks. Yet somehow they've beaten us 9 times.

Is that where he slung Thompson around like a rag doll?

So 2012 Georgia was a better team?

Game results aside, we did win the East and take Alabama to the absolute brink. We were a single play's difference from winning the National Championship because we all know we would have beaten Notre Dame.
So yes, as as whole, i think Georgia was at least even. '12 was one of those years in which I think the teams were pretty even.
We did finish ahead of South Carolina in the final rankings.

Yeah, not true at all. I'll go ahead and guess you've only been following football the past 5 years.

I think the 2012 SoCar game was one of the luckiest I have ever seen Florida play.
Sorry meant that for CNB.

To me, a "lucky" win is when something extremely out of ordinary, rare, or unlikely happens and your team wins.
If your team is up by 4 late and a wide open WR drops a TD pass that would have won - you got lucky.
Up by 2 and a team misses a short FG as time expires that would have won - you got lucky.
You give up a big play to lose the game but a penalty flag takes it back - you got lucky.
The '14 Bama/LSU game saw Bama benefit from great starting field position when the KO went OOB, but they still had to drive down the field some 50+ yards with less than one minute to go to tie and THEN had to score and hold on D in OT. That game saw some good fortune benefit Bama, but it wasn't lucky that they won.
The '12 Bama/LSU game saw Bama drive late and win on the screen pass to Yeldon, but he made guys miss and McCarron/Norwood connections earlier in that drive helped Bama come from behind to win with less than 1 minute to go. Bama benefited from poor coaching by LSU, but also from good coaching/play calling on O. Fortunate at times? Yes. Lucky? No.

Here are some statistics that might shed some light.
Winning percentage in SEC games (SEC vs. SEC) in games decided by one score or less (8 points):
#1 Auburn (61.1%)
#2 LSU (61.0%)
#3 Florida (58.0%)
#4 Georgia (57.1%)
#5 Tennessee (53.7%)
#6 Alabama (51.3%)
#7 Miss. St. (50.7%)
#8 Texas A&M (50.0%)
#9 Missouri (50.0%)
#10 Arkansas (49.4%)
#11 S. Carolina (45.2%)
#12 Ole Miss (39.0%)
#13 Kentucky (36.8%)
#14 Vanderbilt (32.3%)
So Auburn does come away with the best record in close games.... but VERY close to LSU in that statistic. Whether you want to call it "luck" or whatever, Auburn and LSU seem to catch more breaks in close games.
Which teams have played in the most close games? Again these are only SEC games since 1992:
90- Auburn
86- LSU
83- S. Carolina
82- Ole Miss
81- Tennessee
78- Georgia
77- Alabama
77- Arkansas
76- Kentucky
72- Miss. St.
69- Florida
65- Vanderbilt
Texas A&M has played in 14, Mizzou 12... but that's only since they joined the league in 2011.
I think its fair to see why Auburn and LSU seem to have the reputation for being the "most lucky." They have both played in the most close conference games, and they have the best winning percentages in such games.
