I've been six times I think and it's always cordial. I find that Bama fans are fun and respectful. And of course, they know their football so the pregame talk is usually more substantive than what you get at the UF's and the fashion show up in Oxford .
I like Georgia too.
edit-Ole Miss fans are cordial as well, just the fashion show is a little much for my personal taste. but they are good Southern people.

quote:
i would think there'd be a mob mentality for when auburn fans or tennessee or even lsu fans come into town. they come to town every other year, and i'd expect our jackass fans to be in their 2 year rare form... ready to combat all of the hate towards us!
Now I agree with you on that. When Aub, UT, or LSU come to town you have to have your game mentality strapped and ready to go. Thats why I threw in the line about being "hospitable and welcoming to people from any school who act the same way"...I'll be as welcoming as anybody when they are good people wanting to have a good time, but I can flip the switch and be "Mr. RollTideWeGot13" when somebody wants to be a douchenozzle.

Penn State fans were highly entertained by watching the likes of this:

Nice read. Here's to hoping Southern Hospitality never dies.

some people call it a myth. i'm just glad people know about it and seem to generally agree that it DOES exist.

I can honestly say that I have never been to a SEC stadium and been treated badly. This may because I know how to act when I go to someone elses house. I wear my Bama gear, but I don't get in someone's face with my shaker and so forth. If you come by our tent, we welcome you to tailgate with us, no matter what team you are for. It makes it more fun if other people do join in, but people trying to start a fight are not acceptable.
