I'd guess

I'd guess Bama and Georgia are paying as much, or more, for all the five-star freshmen they sign, than anyone else in the country.

You couldn't provide a worse link to actual numbers.

And you can't provide any link, because you are guessing as to what actually takes place.

Bouie was not an NIL bid.

He was a favor to a booster in Bainsbridge who cared about the kid.
It was a last ditch lifeline to help the kid.

Bouie would have never been brought in if it wasn't that request. As it was, the leash was short.

Will Kirby do someone a solid like that again in the future? I don't know. But it was not anything that I had seen in the prior 7 years.

I am guessing.
I don't have specifics.

But I have been provided numbers from employees in the collective.
I have been provided numbers from family members of recruits.

I'm not closing my eyes and throwing darts at a board.

You don't have to trust me.
No skin off my back.

I am sharing what I've been told (not first hand knowledge). You could say thank you. You could say frick you. Your call.

NIL is really tough for a school like South Carolina.

And Wells is a little bitch for how he played this

Would never say frick you, it's not that serious. I enjoy the back and forth with another intelligent poster.

This list shows that a third of Georgia's top 21 NIL earners are freshmen

Are you naive enough to believe this random website has accurate NIL numbers for schools?

I will say that the upper class numbers could be pretty good numbers.

Someone at On3 confirms that a portal ILB at Ohio State makes X amount. They compare that number to the skill/potential of players at UGA.
Georgia may not always be the highest bid. But I would bet that retention bid is a lot closer to the high bid than what is offered a kid out of high school.

UGA is not trying to be "cheap". UGA is trying to be smart.

They have a parent who confirmed a number for 1 athlete. And then they project all other recruits off of that number.

It is an appraisal.
It is not based on any factual NIL other than the number for that 1 kid as described by that 1 parent.

If recruit B wants to go to UGA or Bama (or Tennessee draws a line in the sand as well), then the "appraisal" is an awful representation of the actual NIL.

And add to that mixture eighteen year olds and the unreasonable expectations of their parents. It is a disaster.

Agree with all of the above, except fixed the last sentence.

UGA and Bama have figured out the secret.
You cannot overpay for 22 starting positions.

This is a crazy statement.

UGA/Bama/Ohio State/Michigan and a few others are exempt for this all. Yes they still buy and pay players but...

kids will stay there because those schools put kids in the league. No where else that those kids go will there be more eyes on them.

those schools were good before NIL. For all the rest of us, we just have to accept that kids are coming to transfer in only to transfer out.

Bingo

Makes it really hard to be a fan. I’ll watch games in general, but it’s hard to follow this specific school now.
