Just glad we don't have to hear that yeah, yeah yeah shite

I told everybody when it was happening
Ole Miss turned him down and Saban wanted to make major changes(not tweaks)in the S&C program. BAMA just keeps on the topside of greatness! I hope it works out for Cochran but it was stated before that Saban wanted him to become a grad asst. If on field coaching was where his heart was.

The laughable part for me is all the people acting like UGA is somehow making a huge mistake hiring him as ST coordinator.

The job didn't exist a few years ago... Basically it was an afterthought that was given to TE coaches as an extra responsibility 90% of the time. Even *with* Fountain as ST coach, I'd say last year was a little "meh". We've been great in the kicking game with Hot Rod, and our punter improved SIGNIFICANTLY, but those guys are working with specialist assistants on their technique, not the ST Coordinator. Fountain likely knew no more about proper kickoff technique than I do.

And our return units have been iffy for a while. I don't *think* they'll get worse under Cochran... though it's certainly a possibility. Biggest thing he can help contribute to is consistently improving the KO/Punt coverage units. I'd say we've been great at KO coverage, but it's really been on the back of most people not expecting a chance to return Hot Rod's KO. Punt coverage has been pretty atrocious for a while. Again, don't think it gets worse, but it's possible.

It's really childish and inappropriate. SOURCES SAY: Secret Sources SAY: My Sauce SAYS:

I mean, it's all ridiculous and shows how far we have devolved into teenage rumor mongering as a society.

Back in the 50's, you didn't see SECRET SOURCES making comments in the local papers about how Shug Jordan mercilessly beat his wife constantly.

You didn't see them airing dirty laundry about how she had to go hide with her parents in Augusta, Ga., all the time to escape his rage.

There was not talk about how she was secretly shuttled over to a hospital in Columbus, Ga., every time Shuggie went a little too far with his loving corrections to her behavior.

Why? Because that was their fricking business and that was respected by fine and upstanding newsmen of the day. Men were men and you didn't talk out of turn like a bitch.

Poor Cochran. Made great money, supplemented by Region Bank commercials, etc. I’m glad we have Moffit, but say move on if He was like Cochran

You somehow jumped the shark from raging about reporters and their sources to bitching that men aren't able to beat their spouses in private anymore... WTAF?

I was highlighting the contrast between the way adult men act today and gossip about each other like teenage mean girls and it's considered legitimate news that is fit to print with how men used to mind their own business.

It wasn't anyone's business that Shug Jordan had a dumb bitch for a wife that couldn't follow his instructions and that was respected and not talked about by sport's reporters.

Now look at what they deem news though? Secret sources and cousins of an employee that works with my sister in law's half brother are considered valid resources fit for print.

The article quoted in this thread was filled with sources who couldn't be identified.

Unidentified sources also say that Cochran never wiped his arse after dropping deuces all over BDS facilities. Sources say that he would spit in the mash potatoes at the player's buffet.

Sources say that other sources are only out to be better sources than they are and should not be believed.

It really is funny how much reporting over a special teams hire, and subsequently a S/C has been done. It’s the story of the offseason so far. fricking lol. Even after an LSU championship Alabama owns the SEC news.

Well at least you doubled down on your arse backwards opinion.

Also, I'm not quite sure how old you are, but you do realize reporters have kept confidential sources for stories for MANY years... One of the most famous examples of a confidential source for a reporter was Watergate.

Dude, you need to give it up. From what you’re saying you don’t have a problem with a man putting his wife in the hospital because she couldn’t follow his instructions and not being called out for being a monster at home.
The guy should have been run off from any program.
You ok with an a-hole like that mentoring your kids?

It's interesting how much things have changed is all. I'm not saying it was good what Shug did or good that he had a stupid wife that made him do it.

Contrast the mindless speculation and breathless chatter today about reasons for an adult taking another job with how things were then.

Today, you have girls at newspapers repeating what "sources" have told them and printing it as teen magazine gossip passing as real news.

Back then, a coach could beat his wife for putting the toilet paper roll on upside down and it was not considered newsworthy.

You seem to be defending the fact that he was allowed to continue beating his wife by folks that should have called him out.

Have fun Kirby

It's obvious now that Saban and Cochran's relationship had deteriorated to a point where a change was good for both....and Kirby and UGA had absolutely nothing to do with that. If Cochran had landed at Michigan State or the New York Giants, I highly doubt we would be hearing about this at all.

The continued Kirby hate from some Tide fans, after all he contributed to Alabama's program for years, is pathetic.
