Listening to a lot of Gator pods this week to see how the opposition feels.

Most of them were what you'd expect. A more objective view from the newspaper people. A little more subjectivity from the website people like 247. A little more from the radio people. And a whole lot from the freelancer, strictly fan, people.

These two guys were the best though, and surprisingly are just two grads that follow the football team.

LINK

Just hard for me to see UF having any advantage whatsoever. While AR-15 has looked better than EJ and certainly looks to have a sky high ceiling, he's still pretty raw and will likely make more mistakes than wow plays vs. the UGA defense.

Bowers, Washington and any WR in the slot is gonna be a problem for the Gator LBers or safeties. If Grantham chooses to try and shut those guys down, could be vulnerable to some bombs to the WRs on the outside.

I have a feeling Florida will shore up some of their run problems this week that were prominent vs. LSU. Will UGA be able to run efficiently? I think so, but probably not like LSU.

I think Mullen is a really good play caller, but when I hear it discussed by UF folk and some in the national media, you would think he's owned Kirby Smart. One game folks, last year with UGA missing some key defenders and having to play a QB with a separated shoulder or a guy that just wasn't ready to run an SEC offense. Considering how bad we got our arse kicked last year, I'm not saying we would have won without those things happening. But just don't understand why that game completely blots out this:

2019 UF 278 total yards, 21 yards rushing, 17 points
2018 UF 275 total yards, 170 yards rushing, 17 points
2017 MSU 280 yards, 170 yards rushing, 3 points

The QB run heavy offenses did rush well, but those defenses weren't as good upfront as this one is.

I even heard one guy talk about how Dan always keeps it close if he doesn't win, then referred to last year's game as a blowout. Hint: Last year's game wasn't the biggest point differential in the three Jax games Dan has coached and that's his only win.

Talk about your orange and blue visors. From 2017-2019, Florida never once had simultaneous possession of the football and the lead. Nor did a Dan Mullen coached team if you want to sub MSU for UF in 2017.

I heard AR-15's QB training coach (not sure if this guy worked with him in high school, off season in college, or both) basically say Mullen can dial up RPOs all game to nullify UGA's pass rush. If it was that easy, why hasn't anyone else done it? RPOs are pretty much in every offense these days.

Some stats from the Athletic:
• Georgia has run fewer plays this season with the score within two touchdowns than any other team in the FBS (221 plays, compared to 226 with the bigger lead.) The takeaway: more than half of Georgia’s plays have been when it has a two-touchdown-or-more lead. Think that warps the overall stats?

• However, when the lead has been within seven points, the Georgia offense leads the nation in percentage of plays that gain 20 or more yards (11.5 percent, 11 of 156 plays.).

• Overall this season, Georgia ranks 18th in the nation in yards per play (6.74). But when the game has been within seven points, Georgia jumps up to fourth nationally.

• And when the game has been that close, Georgia has also been more likely to gain 10-plus yards on a play (26.3 percent of the time) than be stopped for no gain or a loss (20.5 percent).

• When the game has gotten out of reach, Todd Monken has taken his foot off the gas, both in pace and play-calling: Georgia has averaged a play every 27.7 seconds when the game is within 14 points, compared to every 30.4 seconds when it’s not, and the designed run-pass ratio has been 50-50 when the game was within 7 points (78 dropbacks, 78 designed rushes), compared to calling designed runs 66.3 percent of the time when Georgia leads by 14 or more.

PAYWALL

If Georgia is at least a head above the rest of the college football field, this game should be at or only a point or two shy of the 14 point spread at minimum. Some Georgia fans can't get over 1990-2010. It's not me.

I thought this thread title was code for pictures of UGA and UF hotties at the WLOCP.

But all I got was a shite ton of stupid words.

Do Georgia fans need to be reminded we slapped 44 points on their defense last season. A bunch of those guys are still on the field also. It was crazy how easy it was to pass on Georgia's defense to a tune of almost 500 yards.

Keep living in 2020, baby boy.

It will make it easier if you go into your mental happy place while Kirby slides it in raw tomorrow.

Apples to oranges.

UF's 2021 offensive identity in no way resembles the 2020 identity.

Ready to see your play if this backfires.

The Dawgs need no additional help finding ways to bring the GA Sports Curse into effect, so you might be counter-jinxing us.

UF turns the ball over too much. -7 to GA’s +3.

Gators need to shore that up as well as the penalties.
Otherwise, it’ll get out of hand quick.

Let’s have no injuries & fair refs.
