No. Our fan base could never tolerate his mad hatter style. We are too critical as a fan base to have a risk taking coach.

would be best possible thing for PSU but Nick ain't going anywhere, he'll finish up at Bama if they want him and they will, time heals everything

but Saban wouldn't touch that job for anything IMO, not sure who will. It's not all that "awesome" a job as some would think

Logical FAIL here. Sorry Bammer, U dumb.

THe LSU fans who oppose a rematch oppose it becasue BAMA does not deserve one ATM. Unless some really strange stuff happens, you do not deserve another chance. You had your chance, at home and lost a close hard fought game. The end.

Recruiting to a school that had a 17 year long cover-up of a child molester on the football staff can't be easy.

That is the exact reason they need someone like Saban. Also, after the disgusting crap that went on there, even Lil' Nicky would look like a saint. He could come in and clean house and people would be happy.

You have to:
1. replace a legend,
2. recruit to a program that will be in the news every week for the next few years for molesting kids
3. Alumni support will be at an all time low
4. Program will be in financial shambles after the lawsuits
5. President/faculty will be doing everything possible to push an image of a university not run by the football program

Seriously, imagine being a recruit who visits PSU and you come home and your friends at school are joking around and asking how your arse feels. This will be a tough, tough job.

Sure PSU needs Saban. Why does Saban need PSU?

He needs PSU in order to stroke his massive ego. He's built up Bama to a point where anything less than a NC is a disappointment to fans. If he even won a conference title at Penn St. they would be worshipping him.

Do you know what they are paying Joe Pa right now? I'll wait for your reply..

Terry Saban is already going about making this happen, regardless of the money

Looking back at the Shula years, I'm happily content with the current state of affairs.

No doubt. It's just that it seems like nothing he can do will ever EXCEED expectations.

Probably gonna be tough to recruit there unless they tear down the Larsh building.

Coach: "here's the weightroom and the showers are over there"

Recruit: "I think I'm gonna puke"

I'd have no problem with taking that job if I were Meyer. Dude would own the big ten.

"risk taking style" as in 40+ yard field goal attempts or trick play with qb lined up as receiver interception play. And when all else fails, including the game, throwing players under the bus and not taking responsibility for calling the plays. Recruits hopefully will understand even if you do not.

LSU fans aren't scared of a rematch, most just don't feel Bama deserves one. LSU went into your house and won, case closed. Our coach has done very well against your coach who you say used LSU as a stepping stone. So we are fine. Nothing to see here.

Wont be a problem. The whole program/staff will be gutted and started from scratch. Cant blame a new regime with new staff for past indiscretions by former staff. Those culpable will be replaced. Not too hard of a sell to a recruit on that basis, imo.

3. Alumni support will be at an all time low

Initially maybe but within a year it will be back up. If anything, they'll end up giving more to help restore their alma mater's reputation through a new coaching regime/university image

Doubtful but possible. See response to #3

Maybe as a PR move at most. They know the $ the program can bring to the school and there's no way in hell they just let those millions go. Aint happnin

eta: fwiw I dont think Saban would/should go to PSU. He's in a good situation and I think he retires @ bama
