All of my friends bailed on the trip to Lexington, for reasons we don’t have to discuss lol. I’m going alone, however. It’s about crossing off another SEC stadium we rarely visit and seeing the peak atmosphere. I’ll be there from Friday evening to Sunday evening.
Where do I HAVE to eat and what do I HAVE to see in that timespan while I’m in Lexington?

Don't know about the "where" but you have to eat Hot Browns.

Season opens tomorrow.

Since you’ll be here for a while. You’ll have to hit either Ramsey’s or Winchells. Not upper tier steakhouses but they have all the KY must haves when it comes to food. Ramsey’s has the best hot brown in all the land. If you’re looking for a good steak you’ll have to go to Tony’s or Jeff Ruby’s.
If possible try to get a season pass to Keeneland. It’s like $40 but all the general admission tickets are gone. You HAVE to experience a thoroughbred race at keeneland. The nicest racetrack in the country.
Tour a distillery if you have time. There’s 4 or 5 within a short drive from Lexington. Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Wild Turkey. A little farther out Makers Mark and Heaven Hill.
I’m sure others will chime in but that’s my quick suggestion. Enjoy your time here and I’m sure tailgaters will be very welcoming around the stadium.

WildcatMike likes strange men and washing their underwear. I'm sure he'd be up for meeting you.

I bailed on a trip to Lexington with my buddies a couple years ago due to some stuff that came up at home last minute, but they had a great time. I think it's probably a must to do a bourbon tour if you're gonna be there for 3 days. Went to Keeneland in college, would highly recommend if you are able to go.

Gotta try Kentucky Fried Chicken. Locals refer to it as "KFC".

Plenty of restaurants. If you are in town for Keeneland, would be a shame not to go if you can get a ticket.
If not, bourbon trail, manchester street is cool. Lots of scenic horse farms everywhere, scenic driving.

Keeneland. Bring nice clothes. A UK football saturday while Keeneland is open is the best kept secret in all of college football. Do not miss the opportunity to do both if you have it. Damn near a perfect weekend.
Distillery tours are fun, but time consuming. Drive time. Tour time. Tasting time. Drive back to Lex. You're looking at half a day. Do it if you have the time. Don't let it keep you from Keeneland or football.
I'm not super up on the restaurant scene in Lex anymore, but Windy Corner Market is a great restaurant away from the weekend hustle and bustle. Great location out in horse country. Good for maybe Sunday lunch after the game and before you head home. Get lots of cookies to go. They're all awesome.

If you are in town long enough and like bourbon, I can't recommend a tour at Four Roses or Woodford Reserve enough. Woodford has a lot of interesting history and you get a pretty educational tour abou the history of the distillery. Four Roses takes you through the entire distilling process and goes very in-depth into what it takes to create their products.
Every time my family goes to a game in Lexington, we always end up going by Joe Bologna's. It's not a very fancy or well to do placce, but it's decent food and atmosphere. If you're open to a little bit of a road trip, there's also a lot of really cool places I could recommend in Cincinnati or Louisville, just be aware they're about an hour or so away from Lexington.

Buffalo Trace in Frankfort is the bomb. Free tour and a good one. Call ahead for reservations for the tours of any distilleries. Usually get a glass, 3 free shots and a couple bourbon balls.
Blanton and Pappy are made there.

What time on Friday? If you’re in by 5:00, check out the West Sixth Brewery tour. It’s a fun one as well.

If you head up to Louisville you can hit the Louisville Slugger Museum and grab some dinner at La Bodeguita de Mima while downtown.

A lot of great suggestions already listed.
One I would add is the Kentucky Horse Park. A lot of history on the Kentucky horse tradition, and can get up close to several retired champions.

Try the braised horse meat. Best in the nation.
Watch them race one day. Take a bite of the losers the next.
