But this weekly banter of, “Who should we expunge,” “”Why Mizzou isn’t southern enough,” etc. is silly beyond measure.

The people who mattered studied—at length—Missouri’s affiliation with the conference.
It wasn’t a knee-jerk reaction.
In complete seriousness, few decision makers are concerned what Jean Benoit from Houma and/or Wells Davis Jackson from Olive Branch think of Mizzou’s SEC membership,
No offense intended at all ... but let it go.

Mizzou is a top notch score for any athletics conference.
Some of these bubbas just don’t have the backgrounds to know that.
That’s not an insult, it’s simply a factor of them not having been exposed to much outside of their own contextual regions.
It gets ridiculous reading these same weekly (daily?) iterations of “Who should WE kick out?” “Who should be the next expansion selection?”
Get over yourselves, ya know?
The SEC doesn’t give a lick what you think.

That is probably the main reason but honestly the St. Louis TV market is dominated by the Cardinals and few care about Mizzou or college football in general.
KC is a Chiefs and Royals market. I would like to see legitimate figures for these two markets and CFB viewership in general.
The Mizzou fans I know and interact with are pretty laid back and certainly not rabid. Most are happy with and accept a season of 7 to 9 wins. Their claim to fame is an occasional win over Oklahoma or Nebraska in years past. Low overall expectations in general.
