Texas actually could have beaten Miami if they didn’t shite the bed and lose to Florida.
They are certainly better than A&M.
This is how it would have played out if we had all played each other.
Georgia
Texas
A&M Bama Ole Miss coin flip
That’s likely the truth
And the rest don’t matter.

Notre Dame got fricked like UGA in 2023. Texas didn’t belong

I think what you’re getting at is the difference between deserving to go versus being able to compete once there.
Texas didn’t deserve to go. But I don’t agree that they could not have done well if they went. ND deserved to go and probably would have also done well.
Texas didn’t get the chance but it doesn’t mean their team isn’t capable.

Hard to say. UF beat Texas. Texas beat A&M. A&M beat UF.
Ole Miss beat UF too.
Florida beat FSU. FSU beat Bama. Bama beat UGA the first time they played. UGA beat UF.
Your "how it would have played out" is just your guess. How it did play out was that Bama lost to OU, UGA lost to Bama, A&M lost to Texas, Ole Miss lost to UGA. OU lost to Texas and Ole Miss. Texas lost to UGA and Florida. Vandy lost to Texas and Bama.
The only team that lost to a conference opponent with more than 2 losses in the conference out of the 1-2 loss teams in the SEC was Texas. It's why you aren't in the playoff. Handling your business against teams like Florida is part of the game. A&M handled UF. Ole Miss handled UF. UGA handled UF. Miami handled UF OOC. Even LSU and Tennessee handled UF. SOUTH FLORIDA handled UF.
Texas didn't.

Maybe. Hard to make that argument with that Florida loss though. The other ranked teams that should've beat them, did.

All but Texas played Florida at Home, and most played them without a healthy Dallas Wilson.
Texas played @ Florida with a healthy Dallas Wilson, with our best CB out.
Florida 0-5 on the road
Florida 0-1 in Jacksonville
Florida 4-2 at home
None of it matters, but it isn’t apples to apples.

Other than Texas the home wins were Long Island, miss state and FSU.
They lost to USF and Tennessee at home. Let’s not pretend UF was very good at home this year.
