Really?

What don't you like about him? Actually curious.

I think he's a fricking clown. He may be a good coach, but I don't want him as our HC.

I can't see Dabo going on ESPN and groveling for the 4th spot over a conference champ who just beat an undefeated team.
lol
Dabo would take a spot in the playoffs if the committee decides to give Clemson the 4th spot but he would never go on tv and beg.
I don't know if you ever saw the movie Miller's Crossing but Saban grovelling on ESPN reminded me of the sniveling character in that movie down on his knees begging the main character not to kill him. The main character decides not to kill him at that point and ends up being a big mistake because the beggar is a bad guy.
The point is, never trust a beggar. They will say whatever they need to say at the moment. One season Saban is saying conference championships should matter, the next season he says it doesn't matter.
It was sad to see the GOAT coach of all time reduced to begging for the 4th spot in the playoffs.

Why would Kirby leave his Alma Mater?? Dream job, getting paid, has everything Bama does and a better recruiting state. Dude is there for life. Dabo I HIGHLY doubt would leave.
So the alma mater is only a big deal to Kirby? What makes you think Bama isn't Dabo's dream job?

You said Dabo is a clown.
I'm pointing out your coach was on ESPN begging for the last spot in the playoffs, and his position contradicted what he has said in previous seasons about importance of conference titles.
I can't see Dabo shifting his arguments quite that easily. :)
Let's face it, if Saban was coach at Clemson and used that argument, he would be widely mocked by prestigious knowledgeable SEC fans, certainly Alabama fans.

Then there's another reason why I wouldn't want him.

You didn't see Saban doing that either.
You saw him agree to go on when they called and asked him to. You saw him point out that if Bama had lost to an unranked team by 30+ they wouldn't be talking to him. And you saw him say that he felt his team was deserving of a spot.
You didn't see him beg, but you only see what you want to see. You should be happy. OSU not making it (b/c they didn't deserve it) means that LSU's status as the only 2 loss national champion will remain in tact.

Ohio State beating an undefeated Wisconsin in an extra game negates the Iowa loss, in my view. Their other loss was to Oklahoma, who is a playoff team.
You see teams have bad losses, to include blowouts, in college basketball go on to get a 1 or 2 seed. UNC will probably still get at least a 2 seed despite losing to 7-4 Wofford at home. lol
Saban admitted he was lobbying for his team.

I get nervous before every game regardless of opponent.
Everyone mocked Clemson when they lost to Cuse but I had thought going into the game Cuse had the best QB Clemson has seen in recent years and he proved me right.

Kirby is at his alma mater. Dawg thru and thru. I don't see him going anywhere. This job is what he has worked for his entire career. And Athens vs Tuscaloose - a no brainer. Athens has long been acknowledged as the top college town and one of the best places to live and retire in the US. So I find your subject funny. Bama fans seem to think all they have to do is decide who they want and that "lucky" guy will break speed limits rushing to Bama.

Ok but point is the same thing can be said about Saban.
Saban is more of a sad clown though. lol Bama fans seem to think it is clownish if a coach smiles every now and then and makes a joke.
Dabo has proven you don't have to be uptight to win some ball games.

I think if Saban became coach at Clemson, you would see him smile and loosen up.
It really is a magical place.
