recent reports say football players were recently spotted using trees as target practice because next time they plan on leaving no witnesses.

you can tell they are dying. they dont look like they used to.

AU professors said they have been dying for a long time and all the TP was the cause. You pressure spray them constantly and no way the trees live.
The whole thing was a hoax. Just a diversion.

Didnt something come out a couple of months ago saying they were already dying? Oaks usually dont go past 200 years before they start rotting right? Tree experts help me out here

When I went on a campus tour four years ago the guide said a car wrecked into the tree a few years before. She said it was already dying then.

All trees die. AU fans decided to speed up the process though. Hence the reason Auburn is growing replacement trees.
Seems dumb to grow replacement trees just to kill em right?

Honest answer....yes, and no. The trees are a non-native species, lived on a corner surrounded by pavement and airborne pollutants from auto exhaust, required pressure washing for removal of toilet paper several times a year over the last 21 years, and had even been set on fire by AU fans on multiple occasions. So yes, they were dying much earlier than normal.
However, they were dying at nowhere near the rate caused by some douchebag with a box of herbicide.

That I understand. the non-typical life of those trees would speed up the process of dying. Plants and trees do not take added stress well

yep...us auburn fans just love setting toomers on fire

funny how the only time it ever gets set on fire is when UGA or bammer is in town

The real worry is that the chemical will spread to the rest of the grounds surrounding the trees. We already know the trees are going to die soon.
