Considering ULM would probably finish 5th or so in the West I don't think you've got much to complain about.

Besides you beat A&M and lost to 'Bama so regardless if A&M was in the SEC or not LSU would still be exactly where they are now.

I'm basing it on wins and losses, you know, the outcome of football games. I'm sure whatever 3rd string leftovers coach you get next will have you sniffing a BCS game again.

That said, I think we'll be fine long-term recruiting, the move has already boosted it tremendously.

on a Big-12 level, yes. on an SECw level, no.

Agreed. We will see. It's going to take some time to shift all of our strategies, recruiting and otherwise, but I'm sure in the long haul we will have some good seasons.

Arkie still has 20 years of SEC play with no Titles and in none of the 3 years when Arkie made the Title game by winning the West were they considered the best team in the SEC. If we look back in 20 years and A&M has the same resume I and most Ags will be severely disappointed. Damn you Arkie guys are sensitive though, the point of this thread was that the West is too strong.

In the end the problem is you can't really divide up Bama and Auburn between the divisions because of the rivalries and that's the best way to balance the divisions competition wise. It's still pretty close though in the big picture over the long term. Right now with the Mississippi schools performing well it makes the West awfully scary. With Vandy playing solid ball and a good coaching hire at Kentucky the East could get just as tough. Florida, Georgia, and UT should be Top 15 teams every year and USC and Mizzou are capable of doing so in any given year.

The real problem is the SEC with it's resources, recruiting, and spending has 14 teams that are all capable of being Top 30 programs once the SEC Network money rolls in. It's downright scary that as good as the SEC is now it is almost certain to be much, much better in 5 years.

It is the reason, Auburn sucks so bad.. we want to move the East... We had to get to Mizzou level.

I think it's cute how you Aggie fans make fun of Arkansas.

Especially since you Aggies never cease telling us about how you're going to be so much better than Arkansas.

That is because Arky isn't the same program most of our history together that they are now.

During most of our SWC history Arky was one of the top teams in the state of Texas mindshare-wise thanks to a big rivalry with Texas. Just like OU, the old Arky would use the recruits gained from Texas to beat up Texas teams, including an A&M that wasn't in its modern form until the 80s.

Fast forward to today and Texas's refusal to play regularly makes Arky an afterthought in Texas and leaves its coaches unable to recruit like Arky could do in the SWC.

Meanwhile a fully-grown A&M now is the only representation of the SEC inside the border of Texas, a fact that is actually raising our profile in the state.

I bet Arky doesn't out recruit A&M for more than one year in a row the next decade. A&M 3.0 will have the better players and will be a better program than Arky 2.0 has been.

The ancient history of our rivalry is just that.
