Nobody’s getting out of the ACC until 2037. There’s a $50 million buyout and the GOR penalties. No ACC school can afford that.

If true, this tells me those rumors about Clemson and Florida State to the SEC might actually have some truth to them. Why would they not go after Clemson?

Yeah, I think those rumors have legs. I think the SEC is waiting to see what the Big 10 and ACC do.

Buyouts can be negotiated and the Big 10/Fox Sports would pay any buyouts.

Last off season’s charade makes me question whether the big 10 even wants to play football.

They can fight this all they want but more playoff spots = more money and more opportunities for more teams. Kevin Warren has proven to be a joke.

This will cause a ripple effect. I never saw this coming. Nobody can predict what conferences will look like five years down the road.

If they want conference champions to get guaranteed slots the playoffs need to expand.

Its that simple.

Conversely, they can be maintained. Given the vitriol Maryland got when they went to the Big 10, I’d say the conference is less willing to negotiate now. The Terrapins got the exit fee down to $30 million but there weren’t GOR penalties. And Maryland isn’t Clemson or Florida State.

That's why they have Barry Alvarez in there. I suspect Alvarez is really running the Big 10 and Kevin Warren is now a figurehead.

the Big 10 may raid the ACC taking UVA, Ga Tech, Duke and UNC.
