Cock folks, what are you hearing on your end?

Does LSU sweep in and hire him before OU?

I think Woodward is currently in the garage analyzing his "smoke screen" machine and trying to figure out why it sent Lincoln Riley to Los Angeles.

He was the assistant head coach there in 2020. He will be a good one.
He married a MSU girl when he was an assistant here, I always hoped he would come back to Starkville because of that.

Nothing being floated here, yet. Doubtful, but one never knows.

Beamer's wife is pretty hot...

Just tells you what internet grumors are worth.

That’s the dumbest rumor I’ve ever heard

Yeah . . . it is from "multiple insiders" . . . .
Shane Beamer a Sooner?

irst-year South Carolina coach Shane Beamer is a candidate for Oklahoma's coaching vacancy, multiple sources have told 247Sports. Beamer, who has led the Gamecocks to bowl eligibility this fall, worked three years at Oklahoma as the Sooners' associate head coach. Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley bolted for USC over the weekend, leaving Oklahoma vacant with the Early Signing Period next month and the team prepping for their bowl game under interim coach Bob Stoops.
Sources say the belief Beamer can maintain Oklahoma's current roster and provide immediate coaching stability in Norman are the primary reasons the Sooners would be interested. Beamer signed a five-year deal worth $2.75 million per season with the Gamecocks last December, but the Sooners' job would be a sizable raise after Oklahoma made Riley one of the nation's highest-paid coaches.
"If there’s a hire that helps the job get done, it would probably be Beamer,” 247Sports national analyst Collin Kennedy said. "If there’s one that helps, Beamer would be one of the more viable options who would be able to keep Caleb Williams there. He's beloved in Oklahoma's locker room and his name carried weight in a ton of these recruitments. Plus, the relationships he built during his time at OU would help keep a similar outlook from a program and recruiting standpoint."
Beamer was included in The Oklahoman's early look at five candidates for the Sooners, who were a raging success during his time at the program with two playoff appearances.
Beamer quickly shut down speculation surrounding his potential candidacy at Virginia Tech after the Hokies’ job opened earlier this month, but has not yet commented on Oklahoma.

Honestly I'd laugh. Didn't really want Beamer anyway - but the prospect of Ray Tanner being involved in yet another coaching search frightens me.

I don't understand why OU would actually go after Beamer if they paid attention to our season, but if it were to happen, we must lock down Chadwell immediately.

That was my first thought when I read this thread.

If the best Oklahoma can come up with is Shane Beamer, it’ll be a return to the 90s for them. Beamer at Carolina works because there are low expectations for him to grow through. He will get cooked alive in Norman.

What a disaster that would be.

I love how now you both are all in on Chadwell. If I had the free time I'd pull up me pushing him and all of the excuses and arguing I got from I believe both of you and the rest of the fans on here.
I guess a second straight ranked season despite losing your starting QB helped you lot see the light.

You're not wrong and we're not broke. We've also proved we produce more than enough talent on both sides of the ball to consistently win with and be a top 10 team. How quickly everyone including UGA fans forget how loaded up Spurrier was. And how not a pushover we were. Not to mention why the hell would anyone want to go into the SEC west versus having 5 years to build up in the East. Smart was very, very smart.

I think it’s a smart move on OU’s part. Snagging Beamer, a seasoned, highly successful SEC HC, would make OU’s transition to the SEC much easier.

You're very mistaken. I deeply wanted either Chadwell, Napier, or Freeze last year. You must be thinking of another poster.
I've stated many times that Beamer was hired solely because he stirred up nostalgia for our fanbase, and that we'd probably regret passing on Chadwell.
