Sounds like the Royals may be next. What a cesspool, teams can't seem to leave that state fast enough.

At least you have college teams. Maybe it will boost your lackluster attendance and fan support at Missouri and Missouri State games? It at least dissolves the BS excuse of "muh we care about pro". From my understanding MO people are not high on anything from Kansas. So I can't imagine they will support the Kansas Chiefs, will they? Darn that would be hypocritical of them!

I don't care about anything that happens to that part of the state.

I'm strictly talking the eastern part.

Were they demanding a lot of tax payer money?

If so, I'd tell them good riddance.

The Chicago Bears may move to East Chicago Indiana. Tax breaks are all the rage. No surprise that the KC Royals could move 20 minutes away lol.

It's unfortunate, but I don't blame Kansas City, MO for not wanting to fund a billionaire's stadium. However, Kansas City is not blameless for losing the Chiefs to Kansas - they've had 50 years to build/incentivize development in the area around Arrowhead, but it's somehow actually got worse over the years. That part of town is an absolute shithole. Sure, the tailgating is fun, but it feels like driving through Mogadishu to get to the stadium.

We are not much into taxpayer blackmail these days. But if you enjoy that sort of thing, by all means.

Didn't St. Louis also lose a team to a suburb of Phoenix?

No kidding. All the "ballpark village" talk and there is the counterpoint. 2 stadia surrounded by easily development land for decades. A single hotel and one McDonalds only things for miles. Drive down a sketchy county road after the game to get back to civilization

This. The city let that area turn into a dilapidated wasteland…the Chiefs decided to move years ago once the money shifted west.

I just hope we can keep the Royals.

I hate the Chiefs, but I respect them coming to their senses and coming to the better half of KC.

I've read from Mizzou fans that Arrowhead was the loudest stadium in the country and a much better gameday environment than any SEC one.

Never been but if true this is a major bummer for them.

Missouri joined the SEC and is doing its best to make Mizzou the State's only show in town to keep tradition with (most) SEC states.

That was many moons ago... I wasn't even born.

Also looks like a great move, top 10 metro.

Do you really live in one of these counties? What's it like?
