LSU82BILL, I am curious as to what SEC schools Jennings, Diarse & Dominque transferred to? This rule applies only to transfers within the conference. Dumbass.

You shouldn't worry, this will not effect MSU either way

Correct,it will though.SEC doesn't want deal with this PR nightmare especially since its allowed at every other P5 conference.

Won't be this academic year but I would bet it'll change going in to 17-18.

Maybe, maybe not. The SEC doesn't change the rule....it is voted on by the ADs. They voted on it in 2012, I believe it was and it stayed like it is today, so there is a decent chance it will stay this way again.

And the AD's represent the SEC as a whole.Sorry, not a chance in Hell the AD's vote to sustain the rule.First its a PR nightmare amd secondly it will get challenged in court if they don't and its somewhat indefensible especially since its allowed at every other P5 conference. You really think someone from the SEC office wants to be on a stand defending this practice and getting crushed by the national sports media while doing so?

This one's a no brainer.

You could be right but they did in 2012. I think the coaches want the rule and I am betting that if the coaches want the rule the AD's will vote to keep it. Who knows, really? We are both guessing.

I don't think it being allowed in every other P5 conference will enter into it, though. Rules vary greatly from conference to conference and I can't see where anything would be illegal about it. As I said...you might be right. I am only guessing.

Completely different circunstances since the Alabama fiasco

No doubt in my mind the coaches would WANT to keep the rule in place but the PR optics are overwhelmingly negative and the coaches and AD's will take their directives from their Presidents and legal departments...who want no part of this fight.
JMO but I would pretty much bet the mortgage that this rule won't be around in 3 years.

No shite. But when the Arky poster says "The fact that the player has to graduate pretty much seals the deal on any player transferring from LSU"....., he is insinuating that LSU players aren't capable of graduating while they still have eligibility left. Oh, and yes, to transfer to any school outside of the conference without sitting out a year, you still need to graduate. Did I really need to explain that to you genius?

Absolutely true.

Also a very good and true point.

I can't argue against your reasoning. It's solid. We'll just have to wait and see.....but you make excellent points and it wouldn't surprise me if you nailed it on the head.
