I don't think that has been or should be their goal, it should be "most deserving". If it was simply "best" teams, why not go ahead and give OSU an invite after they beat PSU? Or LSU after bama? I mean once LSU went 9-0 wiht wins over Texas/UF/AU/Bama was there any doubt they are one of the 4 best teams?

Read the Mission Statement for the Playoff Committee. It specifically states it.

I’m VERY CONFIDENT both would get in to the playoffs if UGA wins

If Georgia wins, they're in.
So, if LSU loses, which team will jump them?
It won't be Oklahoma or Baylor. It won't be anybody.

Oklahoma , That loss to Kansas state and struggled to win in a hand full of other games In over a team that loss to #4 in the conf championship?
But, it would also mean OU has a conf title and another win over a top 10 CFP poll team, as well. Big 12 (actual 10) were burned for not having a title game a while back. If it gets burned again after having added one, I think it is enough to finally break the system
It will be conference and blue blood politics. If OU got left out under those circumstances for a 1 loss non-conf champ, we will have an 8 team playoff contract renegotiation before the expiration of current CFP term.

Yep, both get in.
LSU wins and they play Clemson in the semis. Lose and they play Ohio St in the semis.

I'd hope not, but you never know.
That said, I think there is a bigger chance of LSU being left out than I do of UGA actually beating LSU, so I believe strongly that the debate will very shortly be rendered moot.

I don’t think OU would jump us, especially after the committee’s chosen next team up got exposed Friday.
