So if Georgia wins, how confident are we that both Georgia and LSU are in the playoffs?

Seems like it would make perfect sense and be impossible for the playoff committee to not put them both there.

But they will be desperate to find a way to move one of the SEC teams to number five

There's reasons to leave one out, but it will damn near impossible to snub LSU even barring a loss.

I think UGA would have to blow LSU out to keep LSU out of the playoffs. A ridiculous concept, but say UGA beat then 56-0.

Then I could see the committee keeping them out. Anything less than a VERY one-sided win by UGA, and LSU is still in.

80%

Never trust the committee to do the right thing when given options.

If its OU, I'll be a bit concerned. Baylor they have shown less respect for

I think the CFP committee will have to snub LSU if OU wins the Big 12 as a 1 loss champ and LSU is a 1 loss non-conf champ. A P5 college football blue blood with a conference title and equal record (SOR, SOS, and quality loss notwithstanding) getting passed over to put 2 SEC teams in the CFPs would have the non-SEC football world melt completely.

If Baylor wins, there may be a longer discussion.

Either way, it is the surest path to forcing an 8 team playoff if 2 teams from 1 conference make it in again and a major controversy exists at the P5 conference level.

You would then have to look at who the one loss teams lost to.

UGA lost to unranked South Carolina
Oklahoma lost to unranked Kansas State
LSU lost to #4 UGA
Baylor lost to #6 Oklahoma

Edit: I don’t see the committee dropping LSU any lower than 3.

As I said in another thread, LSU would get left out. Committte will go with the 4 best teams. UGA will have already shown its better than LSU, OU will have just beaten a top 10 team and show they are one of the hottest teams right now. And well OSU and Clemson speak for themselves.

The only way UGA beats LSU and LSU stays in is if Baylor is losing big time, Jalen Hurts comes out with and injury, and Baylor is able to come from behind and win. And LSU’s loss is in a close, “game of the year” type game.

Just my thoughts on it.

that may well be the goal

if it is, LSU is in, if not Big 12 winner is in (if UGA wins today)

If UGA wins, I seriously hope LSU is left out. Mainly for selfish reasons. frick a rematch! That would suck

If UGA wins and LSU is in y’all would be at #4. No way it’d be LSU at 3 in that scenario. Clemson would be #2 in that scenario (I don’t think they’d jump us all the way to 2)

If we win I think we're 2. Clemson would be undefeated sure, but we would have 4 wins over top 15 teams while clemson wouldn't have a single ranked win.

We couldn’t possibly be 3. They aren’t dropping Clemson behind us if we lost today. We’d be 4 or 5, and I think it’s a toss up. I’m definitely pulling for Baylor today as the committee is less impressed with them than OU and they lack the name recognition.

Oh I agree that’s how it should be in that scenario and would enjoy it just to see Dabo whine even though the difference between 2 and 3 doesn’t matter at all. I just don’t know what the committee would do.
