So I read there are multiple origin stories for War Eagle

Well, I stopped reading right there. I thought to myself, "Self, here is a thought: only one place can properly solve this mystery, and that is the SEC Rant."
So I put the question to the forum....before I even bother reading the "multiple origin stories" which one should I believe? What is the TRUTH behind the War Eagle? I am a delicate, trusting soul, mind you, so whatever I hear here will be my gospel.
Second question is, how the hell do you lose track of the right origin story in the first place for something as specific as adopting a "War Eagle" for your team whose actual mascot is the Tigers? How many frickin' war eagles do they have soaring around Lee County? Was it really that hard to keep them all straight as to which one started the tradition? If I go to a game at Auburn will I be besieged by a gazillion war eagles coming at me willy nilly from all angles in some sort of freakish Hitchcockian southern nightmare? These are the kinda things us Yanks need to learn beforehand lest we get beaked to death due to ignorance. Thanks in advance for any insight.

As long as you don't wear a hat made of meat products, you'll be fine.

No one knows the true story. We are looking at the story knowing how big the legend is and thinking "how could no one know the origins of such a story!?" Those who were there when it started did not have the advantage of knowing how big it would get. That is often the case with history and it takes a good historian to dig around and figure out the answer.

Who the frick talks like this anymore? Remind me again why we let the homos up North in the club in the first place. I mean what can they bring to the table except for an easy W for the other SEC schools? Not counting Ole Miss of course

People bring this up about Auburn all the time but they leave out the fact that the Alabama Crimson Tide have an elephant for a mascot...the Tennessee Volunteers have a blue tick hound...the Ole Miss Rebels have a black bear (well maybe they do get brought up a lot)...but it is not uncommon for a teams mascot to different than their battle cry...I mean seriously do Bama fans want to see a menstrating women running around the sidelines, since they are the Crimson Tide, rather than Big Al?

Missouri mullets look exactly like injured rats from aerial view. Proceed with caution.

Well apparently nobody remembers how it used to be whenever the hell you started the War Eagle thing.

Oh and for the record, Mizzou > Sewanee. By a nose, mind you, but we got that one.

Only difference is we don't say "go elephants" or anything related and Tennessee doesn't scream "go blue ticks." The period jokes about crimson tide are dumb. If your girlfriend or
Wife relates her period to the constant movement of the oceans waves then she has some sort of vaginal issues or her vagina is comparable to a gaping wizard sleeve.

Do you feel better?
Takign the fun out of an obvious joke.
Sounds like what you're saying is there si no point for alabama to have an elephant.
