so how exactly does a shitty auburn team beating the main competent to our remaining strength of schedule help alabama? we need LSU undefeated going into the bama game.

The AU/LSU game is win, win, win all the way around for me.

If AU gets drilled with a rusty pipe, it's

If AU loses but in a close one, the LSU melt down will be

If AU pulls off the upset of the year, I'll be

If we go undefeated, we won't need strength of schedule.

.It would certainly help you in the West if Auburn were to pull the upset

If conventional wisdom is true it doesn't matter. The 11/3 winner goes to ATL.

No. Why would any Bama fan want Auburn to win? They're an actual rival of Alabama, while LSU isn't.

I believe I'd rather watch us lose myself than see a man put through that....

The worst thing that could happen to bama is for LSU to have 1 loss to a shitty auburn team before nov 3

Because not only would the winner of the game still win the conference, but also you don't want your best opponent losing to some inspired bottom feeder

If I were a bama fan, I think I would only cheer for LSU to lose after they already have had a loss

The fact that LSU plays UF and USCe helps us significantly so we aren't as reliant on bama being undefeated

Just kidding, undefeated SEC team is going no matter what

Being a Bama fan and living in LA I probably prefer seeing LSU lose but i can't pull for Auburn. Having said that LSU or Bama losing any game other than to each other provides too much entertainment for our prospective fan bases so this week is a win win for Bama fans much like the iron bowl will be for LSU fans.

The only way it matters is if LSU loses to Auburn and one other team (maybe Florida or Arkansas with Wilson?), but still beats Alabama.

If that is Alabama's only loss, Alabama still gets to go to the SEC Championship with an outside chance of going to BCS Championship if they win.

I'm double rooting for Auburn this week.

Right, because LSU was frightening in the 90s. The second thing you should know about rivalries is that they aren't borne out over one decade alone.

If LSU does anything besides beat them down and steal their manhood in embarrassing fashion the way they should, I'll be sorely disappointed.

I completely understand what you're getting at- but I think you're giving Finebaum & his show a little too much credit, Hoss.
