Not seeing where Smart is personally responsible for poor judgment of someone else. Simply saying people “drank alcohol at is home and drove” is very vague. Hanging out for a few hours and having a beer is a far cry from doing endless shots of tequila all night and being tossed your car keys.
Sounds like a reporter trying to drum up a scandal without all the info.

Whaa...whaa....whaa....
Do you not realize this is like Charlie Brown's teacher talking? No one cares about this. UGA is gonna just keep on recruiting top talent, KS is gonna keep on winning, UGA is gonna be at the top of the cfb world and %99 of the college football teams will just keep on being peasants to the college football elite. The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation tried to throw all of this crap up with the Devon Willock case and no one really gave a crap then, and no one gives a crap now! No one cares about any of this and things will just keep on being as they always were. Carry on....

Did you miss this part:
quote:
Association coaches and staff regularly drank alcohol at UGA football Coach Kirby Smart's residence
If it would have been a one time thing there may be plausible deniability that he didn’t know someone was driving drunk. But when it’s a regular thing that excuse doesn’t fly.
In any case it’s a completely moronic decision for a head coach to even put themselves in that position.
Georgia has dram shop laws that cover hosts:
quote:
What Must Be Proven in a Georgia Dram Shop Case A plaintiff suing another person or entity under Georgia dram shop laws must prove—
Alcohol was served to the patron by the bar, restaurant, alcohol retailer, or even a host at a private party.
There is evidence that the server of alcohol noticed or should have noticed that the patron was intoxicated when serving him with alcohol.
There was also knowledge that the patron would soon be driving a motor vehicle when being served alcohol.
The patron caused injuries or other damages to a third party.

So people having a glass of wine when they come over means they are driving drunk?

So in every scenario you guys acted responsibly except that one time. Also, your bosses have never put pressure on you to drink when entertaining clients huh. I just don’t buy that everyone from your school is that righteous. That’s not realistic. I’m not even trying to be devil advocate, y’all just dodging responsibility by always blaming someone else. Tone at the top is what I take way. And the tone set by management will probably have UGA having to settle this case privately so move texts don’t come out.

The only persons who acted irresponsible here are the drivers, the bartenders at the strip club, and possibly the passengers who got in the car with people they knew to be drunk (one of which is the one issuing these allegations).
Some College kids got drunk and got in a wreck racing. Kirby didn’t direct them to do so and I very seriously doubt there are any emails/texts/etc showing otherwise.
The only person in this case attempting to blame others for their actions is Bowles, who admits to getting drunk and driving in the past and obviously got drunk and got in the car with another drunk then got injured. Coaches didn’t do it, they did.

This is what you quoted. Could mean they drank a beer or some wine. Given these are hardworking adults we are talking about, not oilfield bass or college kids that seems likely.

So everyone failed by UGA management. Got it.

Staffers were off duty and took vehicle, in violation of university policy and without explicit permission.

I understand that you are trying to circle the wagons for your program, but go read the article and the full quote. It’s clear they they drank over there multiple times and it’s not just 1 beer or 1 wine.

Ahhh the fear is delicious. Yall act like a UGA player killed a girl and brought the weapon, or Kirby killed a kid at practice, or hired hookers...soo rich coming from the bastions of integrity around the league. L O L

It’s clear that a person filed a lawsuit alleging that occurred. This same person got drunk, road along with a fellow staffer who took a university vehicle, against policy and without permission, to go get drunk with underage people (she’s like 27), she then got back in the same vehicle with someone she knew was plastered and went drag racing through the streets and was injured.
Pardon me if I see her bias here. She needs money to pay for the medical bills that resulted from her poor decisions.

She has the damn receipts.

"The new texts included in the Amended Complaint establish that the Association was fully aware recruiting staffers were regularly allowed to drive recruits and their families around Athens after drinking alcohol at Association sponsored events. Some texts even show that football coaches and recruiting supervisors, in effect, encouraged staffers to drink with football prospects' families

Says her lawyer…the word “in effect” tells me they have some “meh” evidence of what they allege.

If you are going to nitpick the lawyers words the the “in effect” is only about encouraging them to drunk with the recruits. The statement part says: the “Association was fully aware recruiting staffers were regularly allowed to drive recruits and their families around Athens after drinking alcohol at Association sponsored events.”

More cooler space and straighter roads in and out of the new abode, I hope.
