If he went back in the right spot he'd do what Pete Carroll has done

He cannot get the degree of control over an NFL team that he has at Alabama. No matter how smart he is, he cannot turn Cleveland around. He would be an utter and absolute failure.

There is zero chance of this happening.

He would have little to no success IMO. The NFL has changed drastically in the last 10 years. It is now led by innovative young offensive minds. Saban is far from that.

Could he hire a young offensive mind....yes. However, after a year or 2 of success they would move on to another job and need to be replaced. He couldn't consistently do that with success.

The only way Saban leaves is if Bama is about to get hit with a bunch of violations.

I don’t know about that. He has proven himself very adaptable offensively over his years at Alabama.

He has proven he willing to adapt his style but he doesn't call the plays. He will need a good offensive coordinator. Those don't grow on trees in the NFL.

Oh, well, in that case, call the moving vans. Fire up the university jet.

Yes, the turnover at the OC position at Alabama the last 10 years has definitely screwed him.

Yea, I don’t think adapting to the offensive game in the NFL is going to be a problem for him. His biggest problem may be his people skills, dealing with grown professionals. But Belichick has a similar personality as Saban and he obviously excels at it. I think he will surprise a lot of people.

Not really. Belichick has a grouchy public persona but he fits in with the Good ol Boys club in the NFL. Saban is socially awkward and doesn't fit in with them, the way he treats assistants and underlings doesn't fly in the NFL

You may be right. I just have a feeling he surprises people this go around. He will at least be better than about half of the head coaches in NFL right now. There is a long list of very unimpressive head coaches in the league right now.

Saban probably wouldn't be good in the NFL for a couple of reasons

1. What makes him great in college is that hes made alabama the number one school to go to for high recruits. He will never have that advantage in the NFL for sustained periods

2. Hes also the king if that locality. He can basically take a shite in a reporters mouth and tell him taste like a chocolate shake and they would agree. That's not going to happen in New york

3. Finally, he can go to the university and pretty much say I want hookers for the players, waterfalls made of gold and zero entrance and school requirements for any of my players and Bama will bend over. Not going to happen in the NFL. Everyone is on an even playing field

He aint going anywhere

Won't succeed in NFL...

1. Too strict a PED testing protocol

2. NFL players already drive nicer cars than Chargers

3. Any owner/ GM would point out to him that most of the players on the team are more important than him and his ego couldn't handle that.
