Since 1926 Arkansas and Oklahoma have only met 3 times.

Isn't this kinda surprising with how close both schools are? All 3 of these meetings were bowl games too.

Ironically the Northwest Arkansas area is the least pro Arkansas area of Arkansas as you'll see quite a few Oklahoma shirts in Fort Smith and Springfield.

Both schools had felt like in different worlds for it to be a rivalry but this could change it.

That is really interesting - had no clue. I've always assumed that there was a lot of cross pollination between Arkansas and Oklahoma people since they shared such a large border (plus mingling in Metro Dallas) - is that the case? Are Arkansas/Oklahoma folks around each other a lot?

An Arkansas-Oklahoma rivalry would be great...it'll generate a lot of interest, too.

Both were actually founding Southwest Conference members. Another fact not a lot of folks realize about Oklahoma.

Oklahoma left for the Big 8(I think it might've been Big 6 at that time).

I hope Arkansas and LSU are in the OU pod. Two teams I’d like for OU to play every year.

Not sure what that has to do with the topic but t-shirt fans watch games and buy merch. The more the better!

Arkansas is just Kansas with a couple extra letters.

A rivalry takes some back and forth. OU would own Arkansas every time they play.

LSU learned the hard way in 2007 that's not the case

Yeah. I always thought that was strange. Broyles did not like a challenge in his non conference games so he depended on Tulsa, Oklahoma State and another pansy. OU wasn't on his card.

The Arkie, LSU, UT and aggy quad will be awesome. Finally LSU has some great close by rivalry competition. Much rather see those matchups than SC or UK or Vandy or State.

We shoudl have gotten to play OU after the '01 season instead of arkansas. We not only had a better record than arkansas, but we beat them head to head.

This is an abysmal post

Northwest Arkansas = Benton, Washington, and Madison Counties. About those 3, you are incorrect

No one gives a damn about Fort Smith. And Springfield is almost as far away from NWA as Norman itself

Don't group that shite-stain Fort Smith with NWA. They are so dumb they believe spam emails from Nigeria.

Yeah it’s only a three hour drive from Norman to Fayetteville. We should play more than we have.

FWIW I think everyone knows who OU's QBs have been the last few years.
