7) Alabama

"......No fan base in America cares more about its football team, which can cut both ways for a coach. Win a national title and get a statue. Don't win a national title and get run out of town."

I'm so sick and tired of this ridiculous myth. Perkins left Alabama for the NFL, not because he was run off. Bill Curry was NEVER liked but DID get a contract extension offer after the Sugar Bowl that he refused (didn't have s### to do with not winning a national title but being an outsider and 0 for Auburn). Stallings left on his own terms. Dubose was fired for sucking in 2000 and losing control of the program (NCAA probation). Franchoine was very popular among Alabama fans and was wanted but got scared off from the fallout of the NCAA penalty announcement. Mike Price needs no explanation and finally Mike Shula went 26-23 and couldn't beat Auburn and STILL many Bama fans supported him. This utter horse s### about Bama fans running coaches off for not winning national championships is absurd.

Otherwise, I don't have a huge problem where Alabama is listed although I'd put them about #5. I'd switch Auburn and Notre Dame out with each other and put Tennessee in Oregon's place. Oklahoma is a bit high as well.

ASU, Arizona, and Okie st. is a terrible way to round out the top 20 coaching jobs in America.

Sorry, i have to call BS on auburn being a top 10 job in college football. Especially having them above usc and notre damn.

I am happy to see that; although, it's just the writer's perspective that is probably influenced a lot by current trending...Notre Dame has been down bad the past 8+ years and USC is currently in a downward spiral - not to mention the dumbass coach they just hired away form the Vols.

I guess history and recruiting base weren't concrete factors in that list. I didn't expect Alabama at the top of list, but #7?

Especially since we were second in the country in revenue 2 years ago.

Having worked at a bank where Stallings was on the board, this statement is not really true.

Florida at number 4 has me confused

How so? UF is basically better at everything in sports than any of the SEC east schools including Georgia. Working for Foley is one of the biggest reasons why it's so desirable and ranked so high. The man knows what it takes to win and will get you what you need to win.

Just look at the number of SEC titles he has under his belt.

Alabama would easily be top 5 if it weren't for Auburn being in the same state.

LSU is easily top-10, didn't even look at the list though. I really think that it's equal to the Alabama one.. largely due to not having an in-state rival. I'd probably have both schools either top 5 or very near it.

You guys realize T. Boone Pickens is a huge donor to Oklahoma State. He has a private fund that donates 100s of millions of dollars a year to the school. I don't think it's a top 15 job, but I understand why it is on the list.

It's ridiculous that Oklahoma and Georgia are in the top 5 while LSU and Alabama is not.

We've won 7 conference titles in the last 11 years. No one in the SEC can match that.

If LSU was in the Big 12 Oklahoma would have only won one or two
