Does blitzing not give the offense a chance to sub or get set? Nah, didn't think so.

Or should they just ban disguised blitzes? The defensive player has to already be set at the LOS before the ball is snapped. If they aren't, it's a 15 yard penalty.

I think you should only be able to blitz one person and he must raise his hand prior to blitzing (similar to a fair catch)... Would cut down on injuries..

Do these little asinine posts make you feel better? Here's a tip: get an offense that doesn't depend so heavily on the time between plays, get players who are athletic enough to impose their physical will upon the opposition and stop sobbing over the POTENTIAL of a rule change.

I don't like the notion that "The Nick Saban Rule" could be implemented any more than you do. I actually enjoy the wrinkle that these types of gimmicks add to games (I say that as an LSU fan). But bitching about it just makes you look pathetic and scared.

why not, with the 6 million rule changes they have made that only benefit the offense, why not another one? god forbid a change is made to help keep a defensive player safe

Yes, sometimes it is disguised and difficult for offenses to make the correct blocking calls. At the very least the defender who will be blitzing should have to raise their hand 10 seconds before the :29 game clock.

Daowna, that pic is right on the money.

Soon it will be "down, set, hug it out."

these are in no way spurious analogies that totally apply to letting defensive players substitute
