But when I walk out of my hotel in Hoover and would like to catch Game 6 of the OKC/Warriors game, my options are Buffalo Wild Wings, and an Applebees.

Hoover's location is convenient, but there's nothing to do there after the game.

Have you not visited the Vulcan statue atop Red Mtn.?

Wrong again, there's pub261 in Pelham, gabes in hoover, Charlie's taphouse on hoover, on tap sports cafe, twin peaks, etc. Or drive 10 min and downtown bham is always busy this time of year.

I'm joking, brah. I know there's options...but to act like John Hawkins Parkway is on par with Lower Broadway is a little much.

[quote]LSU just bitches because they are still so p'd off about Saban. No other reason. I dont like to have to go the MSY for the Sugar Bowl but dam, I'm not gonna go on a crusade to move it out of that shithole that is New Orlenas. Grow up junior.[/quote

Bowl games are not the same as a 12 team conference tourney. It should rotate around the league so ALL fan bases can enjoy it and different communities can benefit. And yes, the basketball tourney should rotate also. The SEC would make more money this way. And by the way junior, that 5 game winning streak ends in Tiger Stadium this year. You Gumps are just a little too spoiled and arrogant. I'll bet half your fan base will cry like a baby. Can't wait.

MullenBoys, I guess the fact that Hoover is so close to StarkVegas has nothing to do with why Moo Staters love it so much?

It takes time for communities to develop local support. Moving it around would be a disaster.

If the rows upon rows of empty seats I saw on TV this weekend are illustrative of local support, there's no reason it shouldn't rotate.
Any community would be happy to have a tournament event bringing revenue into its coffers.
I can empathize with some of the arguments proffered by #teamhoover, but a lack of local support elsewhere is a non-starter.

Of course it would be, for the Alabama and Mississipi schools.

If you would actually take the time to visit over there you would realize that a large contingent of the occupied seats (especially in the day time) are local moms taking a van load of kids out for the day. That aint happening in downtown Memphis.Hell, I wouldn't go to downtown Memphis.

I am about done with this debate. They will decide this week and I am going to laugh my arse off when Hoover gets it back (I have it Hoover/Memphis 65/35). But if they move, that's fine, too.

Oh, I'm sure it'll stay in Hoover.
But there's nothing wrong with discussing other options.

At least you're honest--more than can be said for most of the pro-Hoover crowd.

Football had to move to neutral site because Spurrier whined. What makes football different?

Football: Rotated amongst Jerrahworld, NOLA Superdome & Blank's new actuating sphincter with concessions provided by Costco.

Basketball: Houston, NOLA, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta

Baseball: Tropicana in Houston (Largest minority owner and several others in the minority owners group are LSU Alums and would like nothing more than to make this happen). Then Zephyr Field in NOLA. Then Memphis. Then Atlanta.

What would or could be really cool is if you could schedule them in such a way that each city/state/area could host each event in a given year.

Example: SECCG in the Super Dome, SEC Hoops Tournament in the same place, SEC Baseball Tournament at Zephyr Field.

Example 2: SECCG in Jerrahworld, SEC Hoops Tournament at American Airlines Arena, SEC Baseball Tournament at Tropicana or Ballpark in Arlington.

Some fans could make up to three trips in one year and they'd get familiar with the locations and where to go, what to do, how best to get in and out, etc etc. I understand this might not be feasible and there's an argument about whether or not it's better to stagger them so you have at least one event across each geographic location annually to make sure you're putting the entire brand-all of the member institutions of the conference-on display in that area.

But it seems like it could be really fun if you did it that way...
