Your ideas are unbelievably terrible

Moving the extra point back to 30 or 35 yards and keeping the two point conversion the same is not that earth-shattering.

The twenty and fifty yard ideas were just outside-the-box ideas. I can't believe so many people still like the extra point attempt. It's the most insignificant score in all of sports.

Who cares? Why does it bother you? It's not about like or dislike. It is tradition. It's like the kick off.

It is football.

I didn't say it bothered me...I said it was insignificant. Only if people around here could comprehend.

The extra point is nothing like the kickoff. One is very exciting the other gives me a head start on the restroom.

Yes there should be a change. The defense never should have been allowed to score on an "extra" point. Dumbest rule ever.

Technically it's a "Point After Touchdown." That's one of the rules I hate about the NFL. What's the point in not allowing the defense to score when they can score on a run play, pass play, blocked punt, blocked field goal, etc.

The NFL proposal is actually an excellent idea.

Don't think it's as necessary in the college ranks as of yet, though.

Further evidence you are an ignorant frickwit.

Soccer has 3.4 BILLION fans, 200 MILLION players, and in 200 countries....American football has a fraction of those numbers.

Fans would probably love something like that. Coaches would probably have chronic constipation facial expressions.

Eliminating it is dumb period.

But in college especially so. College kickers miss extra points all the time, unlike NFL kickers.

I think its fine for college. Most teams don't have scholarship kickers and miss at least one a year. I remember in 04 that Oregon State kicker missed like 3 in Death Valley

I'd rather see them move it back than get rid of it in the NFL though

Do we really need excitement for that play? I'd rather get to celebrate our TD for a little but longer than have to immediately worry about the XP conversion or whatever they come up with.

If you miss the current extra point it should be minus 1 point.

For a non-kick conversion, give 2 points from the 3, 3 points from the 13, 4 points from the 23, 5 points from the 33, etc. Up to 11 points from the opposite 7 yardline.

Also make the huddle illegal and make the defensive players take on a blocker prior to hitting a ball carrier. It's about safety.

So many emotionally fragile people around here.

I only proposed the 20yd and 50yd conversions to provoke thought. Bad idea around here.

I would actually make the XP attempt 30 yards and leave the two point attempt as is. The current rule would be like requiring a basketball player to make an unguarded layup after a foul to complete a three point play.

If anything this thread opened my eyes to the competitive nature of the average individual. I would prefer more suspense and excitement than less. Shame on me apparently.

I will wait to see what co-Kings Saban and Bielema decide before taking a stance.

If they want to get rid of the extra point then it should be gone.
