Should Aggy just make Jimbo the AD?

Wouldn't it be easier? And cheaper?

Texas A&M would be wise to count on the search firm of John, James, Fisher and Junior when tabbing a new athletic director — best known by its one-word designation, “Jimbo.”
No, that’s not a real search firm, but it is a very real football coach who demands a lot from his players, his program and his employer. And the Aggies’ goal at this point should be to keep the ever-demanding Jimbo Fisher happy in the Bright Football Complex.

My vote is for Bo Jackson.

But why would he want to be the AD.

I don't know that any coaches want to be AD and coach at the same time anymore. Used to be common. I honestly have no idea if anybody does it these days. Seems like keeping up with all the other sports plus NCAA compliance would be way too much headache.
Other than Belichick, who in the NFL doubles as a GM these days? At least there, you don't have to worry about those things I mentioned above. It's one sport, one team, no recruiting, no NCAA.

I stumbled upon this thing I did not know:
Huh.

Football coach Charles McClendon nearly bolted for Texas A&M when he was offered the combined position of football coach and athletic director by the Aggies in January 1972
Huh.

We already have put way too many eggs in his basket. We will let him pick a guy a delegate some.
