??????

Late entering the discussion and completely missing the point. Go play in your sandbox.
Lebby cost us an important win. He's not very smart.

Also we have some devastating injuries to OL, DL and RB.

We had a pretty good team until that happened. I think without those injuries we beat UF easily

Nope. You don't get to shift the Florida loss on the refs when Lebby had a chance at the end to manage the clock, play ball control and kick the FG. But he didn't and the ball got picked and he should have been fired for being an idiot. His call, his turnover, his frick up!

“ Need some salve for your butt?

Our program is NOT a 3-4 year restoration job but it will be with a bumbling moron as our coach.

Sherrill had us winning in Year One
Mullen and Leech had us winning in Year Two. And neither of them made the kind of boneheaded calls in crucial games in ALL their years that Lebby has made in crucial games this season. Florida was our BEST and LAST chance to get a conference road win and his play calling lost us the game, pure and simple.

But please feel good about the Almost Wins he racks up.”

Some people are hopeless but here goes. No I am not happy about losing. Yes the coach screwed the pooch last Saturday. But the reason we were/are in this situation is coaching instability. Lebby is our 5th (FIFTH) COACH in 8 years. You look at the other schools in the conference and several have and are still suffering from changing HC’s like they are disposable diapers. In our situation, we need stability at the HC level. The team is showing marked improvement over the last year. So you want to throw all this progress out the window and start over again for the sixth time?
All you know to is randomly criticize without any concrete suggestion for improvement. Fire the coach is all you can type with your tiny fingers it seems.
Please learn some comprehension and context.

Are you kidding me? Now some of you are blaming this loss on injuries and not his stupid coaching.

Unreal. This is what cope looks like.

Oh I agree that keeping Lebby will definitely give State coaching stability, as the dead last team in the SEC.
We will suck but at least we will be a stable, losing program. Woo-hoo!

That's where MSU screwed up. You had recruited for the Air Raid for three years and then promoted Arnett and let him clean house on offense and take a 180 stylistically? On one hand you don't want to be the AD that tells their coach who they can hire...but at a minimum you have to tell a guy in that particular situation "Hey we're going to promote you but the one condition is you have to keep the offense we've been recruiting to. Wan't to change staff? Go for it but you have to stay with the Air Raid."

We didn’t have an AD in place when this happened. Our football dumb University President rubber stamped all of this. Cohen had already left for Auburn.

That was part of the cascading disaster after Leach’s death.

What you call "progress" is what I call "losing stupidly." Sure, it is still losing but at least we're creative at it. It is better this way too, because it's more soul crushing, don't you agree?
It's the Lebby way!

It is still all the same, Cohen or Keenum or whoever.
State gets a coach on the cheap and as Joker would say "you get what you deserve!" ??

If it were up to fans like you Missouri would’ve fired pinkel or drinkwitz by year 2. Programs like Mississippi St or Mizzou can be good when they’re patient with new coaches. In all honesty most programs should give a coach 4 years unless there’s no visible improvement at all by year 3

Mississippi law limits contracts to four years

From the university, yes. But, I believe Bulldog Club, Inc's supplemental funding of his contract on the private, non-profit side does go 1 year longer than the school funded portion of the contract that is regulated by the state.

Okay then, how about we trade you Lebby for Drinkwitz, since you think Lebby is such a winner.

Actually it might take longer. MSU doesn’t have or isn’t giving Lebby the resources he needs in today’s nil game. The fans have to start donating more before complaining

My suggestion for improvement is HIRE A WINNING COACH and not some wannabe who's here to "learn on the job" as several of you have posted.
2-10 last season, without a conference win.
4-3 thus far, this season without a conference win. But hey, we're playing harder as we lose. That's your benchmark of improvement.

Fricking embarrassing!!!

So now it's the NIL resources that's responsible for Lebby's bad play calling. You guys just keep changing the reasons. One of the last posters said it was injuries. Anything to give Lebby an excuse for being a dumba**!

Well let’s look at tomorrow’s game.
Last year Texas was as a 37 point favorite over State.
This year Texas is favored by 6.5 points.

And I will leave this idiotic discussion at this point.

In looking at the schedule before 2025, there were at least 6 winnable games, possibly 7 with the team we had coming back.

Bringing back most of the team that had just put up one of the worst seasons in SEC history is generally not a good indicator of future success. As someone on the outside looking in, it seems like Lebby has y'all headed in the right direction. State was at a place where any rebuild was going to take multiple years. I'm not saying he is going to have y'all competing for SEC championships, but he at least has you looking like you belong on the same field as other teams in the conference, and that's a big improvement from where you were when he got here. Patience is oft times a virtue.
