Seriously, why is Finebaum considered a football analyst now?

When he was down here in Birmingham he was nothing more than a radio host who stirred the pot and never pretended to be anything other than that. Goes to espn, and now everyone there acts like he is this analyst that deserves to be bowed down to. It’s almost comical. I remember where he came from and it wasn’t all that long ago.

Before that, he was just a columnist. Has this pencil-necked geek ever played a down of football in his life?

He's a radio/tv troll and gets attention on a big stage.

Not sure if I've ever heard him give original insight on anything football related.

He just repeats what he hears and gets people all worked up.

Doesn't take talent or skill doing what he does.

You can thank the SEC fanbase for making him what he is.

Finebaum is a joke and an embarrassment to college football as an institution itself.

ESPN threw a big job at him. Then they *gasp* wanted to make him a big part of their network. He's not waiting in line for TV time with his hand raised or something. ESPN's sports coverage outside of games has been unwatchable for at least five years, and Finebaum's been all over it for at least a few years as an actual analyst. Where have you been? Who cares if they put him up there talking actual football at this point? ESPN gives him a job to do, and he does it, and their sports analysis sucks anyway.

Nobody on TV is a football analyst. Football analysts works for football teams, not media outlets.

The E in ESPN stands for Entertainment.

Finebaum doesn't know any more about football than most of the SEC Rant. The only difference is he has been given a platform by ESPN. JMO, as much as I've seen people rant about Gary Danielson, his football knowledge is 10 times that of Finebaum.

Finebaum's voice is meh but it can work for what it is on radio. I just don't understand why he is a TV guy. What a hideous thing to look at, and I agree from troll to analyst WTF.

Same with that guy "The Bear" in College Gameday. Herbie is a the consummate TV guy, articulate, well presented, likable but also stands his ground. That is what you put in front of a camera. That fat ugly frick bear with no hair and a speaking impediment is the last thing you put on a screen. Not being mean or discriminatory, just being honest. Not every job is for everyone. 5 6” guys are fine, just don’t belong in the NBA.

Best thing that show did was bring in more regional and national reporters to do segments. I could do with less calls and less of his “analysis”. He’s just not that knowledgeable. Not with football and even less with other sports.

The SEC fans would be much better served if those 4 hours per day he's on TV they would actually show SEC sports...Softball...baseball..Volleyball...Tennis...hell, even rowing instead of his face. Keep him on radio only and off of TV.

I can turn him on at any time during his show and within 5 minutes he’s talking about alabama in one way shape or f0rm. I turn him back off.

He was in love with Auburn when Tubby was there during Fear of the Thumb. He just rides whoever is on top. He’s a troll Tennessee grad.

Finebaum is the Jerry Springer of sports radio. A clever man who interacts with idiots in a way that idiots like. Personally, I blame the idiots.
