I think an A is a fair assessment. One thing Kiffin did was unify the base and show OM what it's capable of in this environment. I didn't like the way he handled leaving but no one can argue OM football isn't on a better path because of Carter, Kiffin and the Grove collective.

I found the anomaly. A Reb fan who gets it.

But he played 4 creampuffs a year vs 3 and a P4 like everyone else.

Maybe an A- for going 8-5 in 2022 focusing on Auburn instead of the season and whatever the frick happened in 2024.

I agree about 2024, but I thought he did his best coaching job this year which is why LSU was interested.

Oh absolutely. But as successful as this years squad was, last years team would have destroyed this years given equal coaching.

He holds the exact same stance as 90% of the fan base.

A-

Only reason it’s not A+ is because of how it ended and because he massively fricked up the 2024 team. There is absolutely zero excuse for that team to have gone 10-3.

Can't argue with any of that!

I'm assuming you are referring to the turmoil that was going on in Lane's personal life (self-inflicted) last year?

What changed this year? I think I know what you mighty say, but I'm curious.

Anybody who says anything other than A+ is not a serious person.

I give Ole Miss an A+ from saving his drunken picked arse from likely committing suicide by jumping off a boat in the Gulf Stream.

Curt Cignetti gets an A+ (assuming we agree that's the highest grade we can give) for what he did at one of the worst programs historically in CFB.

I honestly can't give an A+ to any coach who has not won their conference or a NC. But to each his own....that's why I asked.

That, and the Ole Miss schedules have been relatively weak.

A seems fair.

Anything less than that is just petty. Ole Miss is a fairly middling program that can elevate itself with the right coach.

The Kentucky loss was the biggest head-scratcher and I agree it was inexcusable with that team.

The losses to LSU and Florida on the road are somewhat acceptable IMO.

Thanks for the honest reply!

I'll take that as an F for Lane!

I think an A- is generous for a coach that has never won at any level. I was honestly thinking more like a solid B+

Well you can be a dumbass if you wish… ?????

LSU fans are hypocrites. You talk like a coach is garbage if they haven’t won a NC, and then you hire one and think he is unbeatable. Cannot have it both ways. On the LSU scale he isn’t even a B

Well that’s just stupid.

He’s never had the resources or talent he will have at LSU.

I’m not saying he is unbeatable, or that he will even be successful at LSU. But he brought Ole Miss to heights they have not reached at least since Vaught.

I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I always wanted kiffin to be in the league because he is entertaining, but never really wanted him at LSU. Now that he is here I’ll support him, but still probably wouldn’t have been my choice.

Sidenote: Dabo has won a title, and I would venture that NO ONE is taking Dabo over Kiffin. So take your dumbass metric and shove it.

He had 3 great seasons, 2 extremely disappointing ones and his first season was probably good. 2022 could have been written off if he didn’t piss away a top 5 roster in 2024 so a B+ is pretty generous.

Very similar to LSU pre-Saban, which is why they think Heaux is the next Saban.

Probably 95%. Same stance I hold.

I'll talk crap just to frick with LSU fans here, but I actually would give him an easy A, if not A+. I hate that he left... I get it, but I hate it. Just wished he'd of handled it a bit differently... it felt like he was stringing us along for a bit... when he full well knew what he was going to do, and I think THAT is the reason Keith Carter did what he did.

But that's all over now, we have our new coach, who is quite clearly not afraid to walk right up to the line that is the rules, piss all over it and then step right across it.
