to answer your question, I'm not a fan of the ads on Alex Box and on our bb court.

It would bother me if there were advertising on the court. ... It pisses me off even more now that there are two AT&T stamps on that field now.
Ah, OK. Your threshold to get pissed off at inconsequential things is pretty low.

It would bother me if we had walmart or Tyson on the court but with Jeff long I could see it happening, although I like him as ad overall.

Will u be fine with one day a touchdown being made in Auto Zone endzone @ Dish Network Field?
How is this a remotely logical consequence of having sponsor logos on a basketball court?

Id personally hope that a school would never advertise for a company that makes such shitty products. Dish is fine though.

Why would I care about the name?

You asked LSU fans to answer a question about the Cox logo on our floor. It seemed to bother you that LSU's floor has advertising. That doesn't bother me. Since LSU's advertising bothers you so much I kind of assumed you thought having that type of advertising was crass.

I answered your question with links to all of the wonderful things Cox has done for LSU athletics. I asked about your coliseum having a donor's name bothered you because many people think that practice is also crass. I don't.

You have it just as big as "Arkansas" out there.

You make this shite too damn easy DD:

One day, Bud Walton, co-founder of Wal-Mart, visited Broyles and asked him what Arkansas needed most to be competitive in the SEC. Broyles mentioned the need for additional basketball seats and was asked by Walton what a new arena would cost.

So now that you know Walmart did pay for it are you ashamed?

I wouldn't be but you guys seem really picky to me.

I have also noticed that LSU is more addy than other schools, but I think others are gradually catching up.

Baum used to have zero wall ads, and now there are a few.

I don't think having the name of the arena on the floor is the same as having an ad for a business on the court.

A comparison would be if there was a Wal-Mart logo on the floor. There isn't. The name of the arena is Bud Walton Arena. Thats not the same.

I never said it was. Neither your arena's name or Cox's logo on LSU's floor bother me. If you read through the thread completely, you'll see I was answering questions and asking similar questions.

For a fan base that is so proud of their facilities, some of these guys don't know much about Bud Walton Arena. The OP said it didn't have Walton family stamped all over it and another said Bud Walton had nothing to do with Wal mart.

No and no. LSU was one of 9 schools in 2010 to exceed $100 million in revenue (1 of 4 of which received no allocated state funding). In fact, the AD is run by no taxes or mandatory student fees.

FWIW, LSU generated $35 million more than Arkansas and turned a profit of 2.5 times that of the Hawgs when adjusted for the receipt of state funds.

The ads in Alex Box are really Bush League. Makes a great facility look like Little League. All the aluminum bleachers suck as well. If you're going to spend all that money, do it right.

I'm not flaming y'all, but its also something I have noticed. Aren't there hardwired back lit McDonald's golden arches in Tiger Stadium?

I would hate that kind of shite. Seems like y'all have a marketing dept that is kind of out of hand with that kind of shite.

And just to prove I'm not flaming, I'll say Ole Miss has nice landscaping in their stadium and it looks classy.

New Yankee Stadium = Bush League? MLB version of Alex Box if you ask me. Also see Fenway Park a couple of posts above.
