I don't think having the name of the arena on the floor is the same as having an ad for a business on the court. A comparison would be if there was a Wal-Mart logo on the floor. There isn't. The name of the arena is Bud Walton Arena. Thats not the same.

Well:
Cox Communications - The company is named after James M. Cox, who founded the business at the turn of the century.

'Bud Walton' leads thoughts to Wal-Mart
'Cox' leads thoughts to Cox Communications. So, if the PMAC was named James Cox Assembly Center, would that be more acceptable?

No, because Maravich is a good name.

But it would be better if the court had Cox's name on it instead of his company name.

Someday if Jerrah gives us half of his $2 billion net worth, and we name the stadium Jerry Jones Razorback Stadium, it wouldn't be like naming it "Dallas Cowboys Stadium". It would be named for the dude and not his company, as an advertisement.

Do Tiger Stadium and PMAC have ribbon boards?

New Yankee Stadium = Bush League? MLB version of Alex Box if you ask me. Also see Fenway Park a couple of posts above.

The ads in Yankee Stadium are not quite like wooden signs on the outfield fence. Sorry, but the first thing I said when I went to Alex Box was "WTF is up with the Dixie Youth outfield signs. Do they need the money that bad?"

I didn't remember if they did or not. We have those and they are ad machines and I hate them.

I was thinking maybe y'all didn't have ribbon boards and that explained some of the backlit stuff and more prominent ads.

I've heard talk of ribbon boards for Baum someday. I hope like hell they don't ever do that.

Aren't there hardwired back lit McDonald's golden arches in Tiger Stadium

They used to be a prominent McDonald's logo billboard on the South EZ scoreboard but no actually arches as part of the facade that I recall.

I'll say Ole Miss has nice landscaping in their stadium and it looks classy

Ole Miss's revenue's for 2010-2011 were projected at $43 million with over 7% coming from tuition fees and expected to break even. Vanderbilt had more revenue! Landscaping may look nice but it may be to distract what's being put on the field.

Well I'm not sure what else to say. Actually, since your arena is named after Bud Walton, I could understand Wal-Mart logos being on the court. It goes hand in hand. If Pete Maravich had a huge company and the PMAC had his logo on the court instead of Cox's, that'd make sense too.

Like was said, some like the logos, some dislike them, some don't even give them a second thought.
Hard to say it looks bad or cheap when it's bringing in money. For those asking if we have them because we're hard up for cash...no, and the logos are part of why we're not hard up for cash. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Given that we now know that Arky will sell ads on their wall, the real question is why more people will not pay for it?

I don't think its a matter of not having people who would pay for it. They only added some of that last year. I hope they stop where they are now. I doubt they'll add more as we have logos and stats on the rest of it.

We aren't hurting for corporate support at any of our venues. We have 32 luxury boxes at Baum, and 132 at Razorback Stadium.

As a fan, I prefer they minimize that shite just because I don't like how it looks.

Bashing LSU for having corporate logo's on the basketball court or the baseball outfield fence? Really?

What will Arkansas fan's find next to try and make themselves feel superior to LSU?
