Wow. We were told that was no excuse when Texas beat us. Is it okay to say that now?

Well I can't speak for other SEC schools but LSU among Public Universities in the USA was preparing young Men to fight Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Other than the 2 service Academies, which were 1 and 2, LSU along with Texas A&M sent some 5,000 young men as Officers in the US Military, 12,000 total students with 500 KIA.
From the LSU Department if Military Science
"During World War II, LSU was one of the top four schools producing officers for the U.S. Armed Forces. (The other schools were Texas A&M, West Point, and Annapolis). LSU had more than 5,000 former students serving as officers, including 16 who achieved the rank of Brigadier General or higher. In all, 12,000 individuals from LSU served, and over 500 died in this great conflict."

Just get out of here. You’re beginning to sound utterly pathetic. Just acknowledge that your beloved Knights are on the downward trend and got blown off the field.

your Team sucks so you don’t care. We’ve seen that already this season

- The best players didn’t play
- Awards were determined by cancellations
- 6 win team in the CFP
I feel bad for anyone pretending it’s a real season. Stinks of desperation imho.
Really true words
And everybody knows it

After the BYU thrashing I understand why you feel this way.

Of course it was, a Bama fan above brought up WW2 and of course mentioned LSU did not field I team. I only provided historical evidence of why that was the case.
As I said I sad nothing about other SEC teams. Now, perhaps, again, perhaps, Some Doctors in those states gave questionable medical diagnosis to young men who played HS football in other to get them medical deferments so they could field teams during WW2 while LSU on the other hand was 100% to training young men to fight Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.
Again I am not a fan of these other SEC schools so I will leave it to them to explain definitively as to how they were able to have enough young men to field very good football teams during the Second World War.
And LSU did field a team in 1945 for the record.

No one on this board remembers any games from the 1945 season, that says it all imho.
You would be wrong. Army vs Navy in 1945 was a matchup between the two top ranked teams in the country and Army won. It was billed as a a game of the century but Army wound up walking the dog on Navy.
1945 Army won its last three games, against #2 Notre Dame, #6 Penn, and #2 Navy by a whopping 141-13 total.

The Army Special Training Program,Army Air Forces College Training Program, and Navy V-12 training programs instituted within land grant schools and multiple other flagship programs with existing ROTC depts during WWII is actually really interesting, as is the entirety of the war planning efforts to mobilize US industry.
These are the programs that contributed to such big numbers for certain schools. Only two universities had sufficient facilities, infrastructure and student bodies to support all 3 programs (Penn State and Minnesota).
The over production of officers and inadequate quality through ROTC became an issue by 1942, which led to suspension of senior ROTC commissions that were replaced by OCS commissions for the time period.
Interesting stuff either way. So much sacrifice across the board in the WWII effort. Makes one wonder the degree of existential threat that could drive the US toward such a full national mobilization today, and what it would look like.

Yeah, LSU met all but 2-3 metrics required to be a Senior Military College. Anyone shitting on their military history is either a communist, a Democrat/CCP member or a terrorist.
