I, for one applaude the administration for not dumbing the site down, so the lowest denominator's are able to post

Not trying to start shite with admin but on a lot of diff forums and can copy paste a YouTube or gif straight to the post. Go to YouTube, find what you want, copy the address and paste straight to your post.

We tried that years ago, it was a complete disaster. This board is too immature to handle things like that

Get what you are saying, when a person selects “reply” shouldn’t have to highlight, hit quote, go get laid, mow yard, etc…

Just hit reply under who you are replying to, their quote ought to appear and respond.

But what about when you only want to quote certain parts of another post? Or break it up and quote/reply in sections?

On the PC, this is all pretty easy and fast... but I can't post images/gifs from my phone the way I can on my PC. Not sure if it's a Samsung thing or a TD thing. I'm not a very tech savvy person though about all this stuff.

Can’t just quote a poster without having to copy their quote, select quote and paste. Terrible.

This screams lazy, entitled millennial….

Like TigerLunatik said, highlight the specific text first, then click the quote button.

On mobile (at least on iOS), you can long-click an image or GIF in the browser, and select Copy. Go to a post, click img, then paste.

Oh, I'm not complaining.. when I quote, I usually do exactly what you said on my PC.

I usually don't post much on my phone. I just read. I'll wait til I get to a computer to post..

I have a Samsung S10 and that's all I use to post. It's the same process as paperwasp described. Search for a gif. Click to view the page then hold down on the image (long click) then select view image. Copy that url back into the image prompt on TD. Maybe it's awkward at first for some. But, it takes me less than 30 seconds to post gifs. If it took longer than that, I wouldn't post so many of them.

That's what I do.

To me it's actually easier to post images and GIFs from a phone, and to post walls of text (that no one reads) from a desktop.

It's difficult for the computer illiterate. I would prefer that posters here be either a great poster or a great troller AND computer literate. Otherwise, go hang out at a sports bar and do your forum-ing there.

Website owners don't care about your opinions. they are sitting back at a Cane's drinking an 18 year old scotch that the manager went to the liquor store and bought for them.

The owner of this site used this very board as the trial run for a new layout and started a thread asking opinions on it.

Website owners don't care about your unsolicited opinions.

Does that work?

I like the lack of auto-quote when replying. If every reply is autoquoted then it takes forever to scroll through the page. With it being a multi-step process, there generally has to be a good reason for the person to be quoting it or they wouldn't go through the hassle.
