Best restaurant fried chicken I have ever had was in Vicksburg, MS at a place called Walnut Hills

We went as a large group, and everything was family style. Incredible southern menu. Everything made from scratch and neat little restaurant in an old Antebellum looking house.

Highly recommend. From starters, to main courses, to desserts the menu almost covers the original field of 64, and it is as close to homemade as I've ever found.

Miss Martha Lou Gadsden passed in 2021 at age 91 - but her legendary fried chicken fed many at the Port and all around the city for decades until March 2020 - she was still frying and serving all her fixins at age 90 along with her granddaughter -

Bertha's up the street in N Charleston - two of the best versions of fried chicken anywhere on earth were just 2 miles apart -

I abstained. But this is a solid match up.

I did have my doubts about the integrity of the event early on when grits and fried green tomatoes got knocked out.

To be honest, this just sounds like a good meal in itself.

I voted for biscuits and gravy, but the best fried chicken I ever had was at the Old Country Store in Lorman, MS.
