Do you really think auburn is the pure virtuous program you postulate constantly on this board?

Is more bad PR really what Auburn needs right now?

If any school needs a "home run" hire, it's Auburn. They have fallen so far behind Bama it's not even funny, and in order to make a sudden move in the right direction to get competitive, it might need to be Petrino.

I hope Auburn does get him, Saban owns Petrino, plus Petrino isn't a good recruiter.

The only coach out there proven to be able to beat Saban on a consistent basis is Tuberville, but I don't think he would take Auburn back.

^^^This...plus it will be hilarious watching the moral and true Auburn family try and swallow hiring Bobby M.F. Petrino.....AU will just become a bigger a laughing stock than they already are....and Petrino will ride off into the sunset to a better job with a Tigerette on the back of his Harley

and what qb does Auburn have on their roster that would be good in Petrino's system? lol

Bobby Petrino is morally bankrupt. That's not even a question. He's an above average offensive coach. Every single place he coaches is left after he shits on the team and fanbase. He just doesn't care.
He could bring Auburn 8-9 wins on a consistent basis. Nothing more. And he would get owned by Saban. However, he's win some big games that he'd be expected to lose. He'd be Cotton Bowl level or lower year in and out.
He's the dream coach of a perennial 2nd tier team. He'd high tail at the first better offer to come along, of course. But honestly, he's a good match for Auburn. They would be thrilled with 8-9 wins a year, IMO.

Mine is he would come in and smother the dumpster fire and just about the time it is going out he will pour gas on it.

Good grief GTFO.
You of all people. I'm glad shitting on Petrino is part of your recovery plan from the total meltdown you had leading up to and after his departure. Just because your hindsight shite talking makes you feel better doesn't mean it carries any weight with anyone who knows you as a poster.
FTR I am not on the Petrino bandwagon.
But you stealing the limelight trashing him in this thread after you acted like a baby-back bitch during his scandal makes you look like a complete moron.

Must chap your arse to know no matter how often you win on the field, your fanbase will always be bottom feeders and the university will be nothing remarkable with subpar academics.
Do you mean the kind of subpar academics that get Alabama ranked higher than Auburn in nearly every publication that ranks colleges and universities? It must be tough to have graduated from what you must term a sub-subpar university.
By the way, if you guys hire Petrino, you might as well have Jay Gogue wipe his arse with your worthless creed at the press conference. The term "Auburn man" will be a joke forever more.

Putting aside his personal affairs. He's a good coach, but he won't build the type of program Auburn needs to compete with Alabama and LSU. Arkansas was his pinnacle

He took Arky to the Sugar Bowl, and beat lsu a lot. He could do much better at a school where it is a lot easier to recruit.

And yet the last three Auburn HC's were fired after going undefeated an winning the SEC Championship, Auburn does not have 2nd tier program expectations we simply continue to hire 2nd tier coaches and expect them to produce consistent NC contenders
