Not every SEC team packs there gym often, but they sure as hell do when Kentucky comes to town.

Very true. Basketball attendance is a strange thing. At Mizzou, we have a lot of "sell-out" games, but the arena isn't full because lots of those tickets are corporate, or out-of-town donors who got them based on their giving. And those tickets aren't always used. And forget about non-con games, unless they're against a high-profile opponent. Fortunately, we do pretty well for conference games.

I'm planning to catch the Mizzou @ Bama game next month. Gotta get my fix somewhere!

I think a lot of people still have a bad taste in their mouth from last year's Kentucky team.

That and people just see losses. They don't see that UK played a tougher schedule in December then some SEC teams will play all season.

I think you're right, Belle. People look at the record. Like I said, it'll shake out over the next few weeks with conference play.

I heard some of the empty court side seats are from season ticket holders who live in St. Louis and Kansas City who do not make the two hour drive for every game.
Can you give me access to the Mizzou board Semo?

I think you're right. Mostly corporate tickets that tend to go unused or fill up late. Looks bad on TV though. So wish they would have a system in place for a boys or girls club to use the tickets if they aren't otherwise being used.

So basically kind of grouping them by points instead of actually saying one is ahead of another within those groups, before last nights games, you had:

UF

MU/UK

Arky

LSU/UT/OM

Vandy/MSU/Aub/Bama

A&M/SC

UGA

I would probably actually say that those groupings are pretty spot on.

I agree, reedus. If you look at the points, and the groupings, you can see how it will shake out over the course of the season.

Alabama at 11 is moronic, they played one of the toughest schedules in the nation and have been competitive in almost every game.

11.12 @ Xavier L 63-67 - 11-3 in Big East, but moved from A10 (good but not great team)
11.16 USC Upstate in Knoxville, TN W 74-65 = fluff game
11.18 The Citadel in Knoxville, TN W 86–60 = fluff game
11.22 Tennessee State in Knoxville, TN W 88–67 = fluff game
11.28 vs UTEP in Nassau, BAH L 70–78 = lost to mid level CUSA team
11.29 vs Xavier in Nassau, BAH W 64–49 : second game with Xavier
11.30 vs Wake Forest in Nassau, BAH W 82–63 = second tier ACC team
12.07 Tennessee Tech in Knoxville, TN W 84-63 = fluff game
12.14 @ Wichita State L 61-70 = best team played to date, but lost
12.18 NC State in Knoxville, TN L 58-65 = loss to mid level ACC team
12.23 Morehead State in Knoxville, TN W 82-67 = win vs OVC team
12.30 Virginia in Knoxville, TN W 87-52 = win to mid level ACC team
01.04 Tusculum in Knoxville, TN W 98-51 = fluff team

Playing Xavier twice and 3 mid level ACC teams will make it look like a tough schedule but it lacks tough games at the very top. Wichita State is good but are they a Michigan State or Syracuse? 3 ACC teams, but none of the top ones.

(15-0) #11 Wichita State
(11-3) Xavier
(12-2) @ UCLA

UF and UK have top schedules, and Bama is still probably ahead of the Vols. Nothing wrong with the Vols schedule and it is good, just not great.

Looks pretty good, some groups are closer to others. Interested to see how good Arky will play in conference, especially on the road.

You keep looking at the tree and you will keep missing the forest. Coaches and schools can schedule teams in the middle and have a good looking SoS by avoiding the really bad schools. Problem is they never play enough at the top till it is too late and they get knocked out by them.
