Missouri has won the division. More like Vandy for Auburn.

Which is the entire point. More often than not, when a West team plays an East team is not a fair comparison.

Correct, because the West team is usually better than the East team. Thus, West > East.

switching vandy and auburn closes the gap between the east and west significantly

but why? not saying you have the reason for that. so they would rather it remain largely unbalanced simply because splitting up same state schools is a nono.

Why are we even comparing teams that are 0-3 to 2-3 anyway? Shouldn't this just be about the top?

West: Auburn, Bama, LSU
East: Georgia, Florida, Mizzou (to an extent?? They may actually end up 10-2)

Yeah....with LSU, Auburn and Alabama playing really good football, it will be almost impossible for the east to win the h2h this year. The west is much better than the east.

If you all can't beat Kentucky you truly are pathetic.

Well overdue to move Auburn to the East

Move Alabama to the east and make Auburn their permanent cross division rival. Then they can keep both Auburn and Tennessee

would make it a lot easier for Auburn and LSU, eh.

If that were to happen, the East side would be much better than the West, because it's only a matter of time till Florida is competing yearly for the SEC title game. Hell, they were in the title game twice in McElwain's first two years.

Alabama, Georgia, and Florida would be much better than Auburn, LSU, and A&M. For that matter, as much as I regret it, Tennessee will eventually be back, but it won't be for as long as they allow Phil Fulmer to run things.

My preference would be to scrap divisions all together. Each program has 4 annual opponents so that rivalries are preserved. Play a 9-game conference schedule, so each team would play 5 rotating opponents each year.

In this scenario, everyone would play everyone else in the league at least once every 2 years.... every senior class would play in every SEC stadium at least once in a four-year period.

So for example, this would be Georgia's schedule, assuming annual opponents of Florida, Auburn, S. Carolina, and Vanderbilt (hypothetically):

YEAR 1:
Florida in Jacksonville
@ Auburn
S. Carolina
@ Vanderbilt
Alabama
@ Arkansas
Kentucky
@ LSU
Ole Miss

Year 2:
Florida in Jacksonville
Auburn
@ S. Carolina
Vanderbilt
@ Miss St.
Missouri
@ Tennessee
Texas A&M
@ Alabama

Year 3:
Florida in Jacksonville
@ Auburn
S. Carolina
@ Vanderbilt
Arkansas
@ Kentucky
LSu
@ Ole Miss
Miss St.

Year 4:
Florida in Jacksonville
Auburn
@ S. Carolina
Vanderbilt
@ Missouri
Tennessee
@ Texas A&M
Alabama
@ Arkansas

Of course this would either take the NCAA changing their rules or we'd have to ask for a waiver, but I believe this would make things more exciting and much more equal.

Correct. Switching Auburn and Mizzou makes the most sense geographically, but it still does not solve the issue of Vandy and Kentucky (let alone S. Carolina and Tennessee) all being on the same side. One of those bottom feeders... Kentucky or Vandy... need to switch with Auburn.

In all seriousness, the DSOR is a much better, more traditional rivalry than Alabama-Tennessee. No changes should ever occur that halt literally the oldest rivalry in the South.
