State finished 7th out of 7 in 2020 and T3 with 2 other teams out of 7 in 2021. I saying they'll finish somewhere between #5 and #7 in 2022 that big a stretch?

Also, State was picked 8th in basketball. Nowhere close to last. Right in the middle.

And they definitely weren't picked last in baseball last year.

So what are you talking about

Everybody in the west will be better except for LSU. They are 2-3 years away from being competitive.

Alabama should win it again unless Jimbo has a QB.

Davis was going home... HOME is where his heart was, kinda like the LA boys we had that transferred.

Yeah this was the biggest part of it.

Idk, you could make the argument that he is in a better position now than when he came here. Brian Kelly isn't going anywhere and Kelly chose to retain him. Kelly has also be known to have good o-lines and will work with Davis on that.

You think we'll be as bad or WORSE than 6-7 next year? I mean, that'a a pretty bold statement

Kelly is rebuilding the roster through the portal, much like Tucker did at Michigan State. The portal is what will make LSU competitive again right away, not 10-12 win competitive, but we will easily have enough guys and weapons to be a 7 win team minimum next year.

First losing season since 1999. Still beats 8 & 4feit. The jokes write themselves.

The portal can help, there's no doubt about it. What people are ignoring or just don't realize is that most of these transfers couldn't hack it at their prospective schools. So to think a bunch of transfers is going to solve every problem is a bit far fetched.

They will also have to learn a new playback, defense/offense. Teams that are loading up on transfers reminds me of a expansion franchise in pro sports

Transferring doesn't mean they "couldn't hack it."

Some kids just want a change of scenery. These kids probably see a bright future at LSU.

Again, look at what Michigan State did. They massively improved in one season due to getting tons of players that, according to you, "couldn't hack it."

Look, hoss. A highly depleted LSU team with a lame duck coach and first game starter at QB damn near took you down. You will absolutely be in our rear view next year. Book it.

The portal is good to fill needs with experienced players while younger players develop. It also gives good players who want more playing time a chance to show what they can do somewhere else.

It has benefitted us since it's difficult to lure the top high school kids here, but maybe that will change with some success.

Some?. Whats your idea on why the others are transferring?

The ones transferring out of A&M couldn't break the 2-deep, minus Calzada. What are your thoughts on his talent?

No way you reach your win total from last season. You lost too much and most of the players in the portal are there for a reason. Even if BK builds a solid roster that is still a poor way to build for the future. He would be better off to take his lumps now and recruit for the future. He could have strong team later but not the way he is doing it.
