IMHO SEC had a very down year. QB weakness across the board. I still think FL or The Gumps will be whomever comes out of the Big 12 (OU) because the D wins championships and OSU put 41 on OU's D.

This is not even a debate. The SEC is at best #3, and it is more like a 3 way tie at #3.

I know eveyone has been talking about a down year for the SEC, we have the #1 and #2 teams in the country. I hate to say the Pac-10 is a distant 3rd behind Big 12 and SEC. I give the SLIGHT edge to Big 12 this year, because of UT, OU and TTU.

Big 12 and it is not even close in terms of overall strength of the conference. Florida is probably the best team in the nation and BAMA is top five for sure.

No doubt Big 12 is the best this year. SEC is behind them.

Also no doubt the Pac 10 still sux.

ok, well, the big 12 has no defense whatsoever. Those teams can hang an upward of 40+ points on each other. Oklahoma State's defense last night should not have been on the field. They just let Bradford throw and put on a clinic out there.

Sec offense may not put up alot of points, but thats because we have strong defenses. I hope we play Texas Tech in the bowl game so I can see if our defense holds my theory true.

Take a look at the schedules. Texas Tech's was a complete joke before playing TX in week 9. They caught TX down during their toughest stretch, and almost lost to BAYLOR yesterday. Missouri has been exposed and just lost to KANSAS. Oklahoma's schedule wasn't that tough and neither was OSU's. Those soft schedules are what led to the Big 3 - TX, OU, and TT. I'm not saying that those 3 teams aren't good, but are they THAT good? Are they better than FL, AL, and GA? I don't think so.

Oregon State had a chance to win the Pac-10. That's all that needs to be said. Not too mention y'all have two of the worst teams in D-1 football in Washington and Washington State.

The Trojans only have to get up 2 or 3 times a year and they can't even do that anymore.

Bama caught some breaks by having some traditionally good teams having some down years, no denying that. Same with FL. But, the same goes for the Big 12. Also, a lot can be said about defenses when those teams continually are hanging 50+ points on each other.

Here are some facts for you.

The SEC went 4-6 vs the ACC. The 2 top SEC teams went 3-0 vs the ACC, while the rest of the SEC went 1-6. The top 2 ACC teams did not participate..

If you take the top 8 conferences the 6 bcs and the MWC, adn the WAC. The SEC does not have a winning record vs any of them.

2 of those losses were via Vandy and 1 was to an MSU team who wouldnt have a winning record int he OVC. While SC was 1-1.

I guess the top tier ACC teams were busy losing to ECU huh?

You do know that Vandy is the #5 SEC team this season. That should tell you all you need to know about the strength of your conference this season.

Whip dee do. They got a few lucky breaks in the turnover margin earlier in the season. You do know the PAC-10 has the only winless BCS team right?

Seriously did you honestly ever think, even if OSU would have beaten Oregon that the Beavers were the best team in the PAC-10? (which shows the weakness of the PAC-10) Nah I doubt it. Same reason I dont believe Vandy is really the #5 team in the SEC.

I don't think you've gotten the point. Ole miss has gotten better as the year has gone on, and South Carolina has fallen apart like they always do.
