Austin Deculus - Starting RT

Not for certainty but seems I heard his name as gone too. Could be wrong about that one.

Nope. Deculus is staying. Which is good, because losing nine juniors is more than enough. After Burrow, Deculus might be our most improved player this season, but he is probably correct to think that he's not getting drafted very high right now and can further improve his stock by coming back. And that will mean that our OL may be all right for next season, as we really couldn't afford to lose both our tackles.

Well, that's part of being a championship program and having the success that LSU had this season. LSU will reload though like always. We have a shitload of talent returning as well from last season with experience. Then, we have one hell of a recruiting class coming in to help fill some spots and contribute.

As it always seems to end up being the case at LSU, some of the players we have filling the voids left by our departures will turn out being just as good or better than the players they're replacing, lol. That's why it's a luxury being LSU and having the recruiting base and prowess we have. I'm actually excited to see which players step up and take over the available roles in this defense. Our defense will be stacked and our offense will have talent out of the arse as well.

Myles Brennan is going to be just fine as our qb. Though we won't have quite the productivity as we witnessed with burrow, which is to be expected bc he is the best college qb of all time, Brennan can absolutely spin it and will be productive as hell. I find it funny that other fan bases believe that just bc he hasn't been the starter, (he has been behind Joe fricking Burrow, and no qb anywhere would have started over him) that he is somehow not any good, lol. Him learning under burrow these last 2 seasons is also going to help his game out tremendously, bc how the hell couldn't it? We have 3 absolute stud rbs, 2 of our 3 stud wrs from last season returning and plenty of other ultra talented wrs that will now get their chance to shine. We have Arik Gilbert coming in to be our tight end and take thad moss' spot in the offense. Then, our offensive line is returning starters Ed Ingram and Austin deculus from last season, and has a few others returning that have played alot and started at some point in their careers here at LSU (Chasen Hines and Donovaughn Campbell) We are going to be really good, no doubt about it.

Our defense is in the same position as the offense and will be really good next season. The starters we have returning and the experienced players that may not have started this season, but played alot and performed very well when called upon, leaves nothing but optimism on that side of the ball. On top of all that, our punter, field goal kicker and kickoff specialist all return next season and stingley and Trey Palmer both are back as our kick/punt returners. So, special all of our special teamers are back. All in all, I'm very excited to see this LSU team in action in spring and see who steps up and keeps this juggernaut rolling like it will. Please doubt this teams talent and their ability to repeat next season! Keep doubting coach O (the fricking national coach of the year) and his ability to spot/recognize talent and hire/surround himself with other talented coaches! Also, don't forget coach O is the absolute best motivator in college football and will get every ounce of ability and effort out of all the talent he has at his disposal! LSU is going to surprise alot of people next year! Geaux Fightin' Tigers of LSU!

That was the biggest steaming pile of homeristic horse crap I’ve ever read. Enjoy 9-3. Order restored coming in 2020.

How so? We have tons of talent returning. It's not homeristic at all. We return alot of players from last year that contributed a bunch and played well when counted upon to play. Sounds more to me like you are hoping and praying that LSU somehow miraculously falls off, when you know that's not gonna happen. LSU recruits very well and always deals with having to reload. Orgeron plays alot of underclassmen, so when they're called upon to step up and start or play larger roles, they're ready to do so. It's a culture that orgeron has built and the standard of LSU football has changed in his time as head coach. This isn't Les miles anymore buddy, sorry to tell you. This program is just getting started and isn't falling off no matter how much you may want it to happen and how much it hurts you to realize it. LSU is here to stay! See ya next year in the real death valley in br! RTWFU!

Man, you bammers are hating LSU taking over. Bama isn't the team to beat anymore dude. It's LSUs time now. We still comin'!

Delusional. You are losing the following

Your best ever QB
Your top running back
Your #2 receiver
Your top tight end
Your entire offensive line but 1
Your best pass rusher
Both of your middle linebackers
Your best defensive lineman
Half of your secondary
The coach that turned your offense around and turned burrow from meh to good
Your defensive coordinator who for years you guys said was the best in cfb

You are left with a shrimp boat Captain who caught lightning in a bottle and the OC who couldn't score a point on a bad Alabama defense last season with burrow as his QB. Saban knows how to deal with that kind of staff attrition, does Farmer Fran?

Orgeron can use that as an incredible recruiting tool to tell highly touted HS recruits that nine of his underclass men are eligible to go to the NFL. Saban does his best recruiting on draft night every season.

As a Gator fan I watched our team immediately decline a year after winning a National Championship.

A lot of times you need an amazing player (usually a QB) unless you actually are Alabama. It would fly in the face of almost the entire history of modern championship football.

I think LSU will be very good, but it will be very difficult to win it all a second time.

besides all those bama players leaving early about how many others have to leave the capstone to make room for a FULL signing class?

8 more via graduation and/or transfer by summer for an expected class size of 27. Most guys graduate witihin 3 years, so the 85 limit usually isn't a problem. But it's a little tighter than usual this year due to several draft-eligible juniors deciding to stay and play another season. It doesn't look like we'll be losing anyone else who'd likely be a starter at Bama next season. Several will probably enter the portal as grad transfers looking for a place they could likely start.

Like Bama didn't lose a ton of talent off their shittiest team in a decade. Enjoy the Citrus Bowl win and we'll enjoy 15-0.

Moss is odd. Dad is super rich, so money isn't a concern

Came across this one, and laughed. This poster can’t tell the difference between “Dad” and “Thad”. Seriously, how do you think it works among wealthy people? Do you think a 22 year old man gets an allowance from his dad? If so, does it go like that forever? Like when Thad is 50, and Randy is 75, you think Randy will still be giving an allowance to Thad?

I know about 30 wealthy families well enough to answer these questions. The ones with generational money often do subsidize their kids’ lifestyles (with awful results, BTW). And these families have far more money than Randy Moss. The ones with new money rarely do. Plus, Randy does not have big money. He had $82 million in earnings. That might sound like a lot to you, but I doubt he has more than $25 million left. Remember, taxes alone nearly cut it in half, and his lifestyle probably consumed most of it.

Twenty five million yields about $1 million annually to live on. And that’s before taxes. So Randy, if I’m right, has $600,000 per year. That’s nice, but it’s not enough to support other families.

We will see what O is made of in 2020.

Not fair to O. He will not be able to keep this team in the top 5. He has not had enough time to build the recruiting pipeline, but it’s getting there. The 2018 class, which will be juniors next year, is weak. The two classes coming behind it are elite.

In another two years LSU will be able to afford this talent exodus and still challenge for the CFP, but we’re not there yet.

The coaches are not such a concern. We return our offensive coordinator, and while Aranda was top-notch, we have the budget to easily recruit someone as good.

Of course it’s homeristic. When you’re citing Donovan Campbell as a great offensive lineman you’ve jumped the shark.

Let’s look at the problems next year.
1. We replace Burrow with Brennan, and we have no idea what Brennan will be like.
2, Our oline returns 4 guys who have played well. Dare and Hines were subs. There is a chance it could be as good as last year, but maybe not.
3. Tight end will be a talented kid, but he’s a freshman who will likely run incorrect routes sometimes. These could lead to turnovers.
4. Linebacker. - We will patch together a good frontline group, but what about depth? True freshmen. Look what happened to Bama this year with talented true freshmen at LB. They sucked.

It is not a certainty, but a likelihood, that LSU will take a step back this year for all the reasons above, and because the 2018 recruiting class, which should be the backbone of the 2020 team, was weak.

It’s impossible to really predict, but if someone made me bet I’d bet on a three loss regular season. In 2021 this team will have it going like it did in 2019. A seasoned QB, coaches all settled in, and top-end depth everywhere.

2019 was a bit of a freak. The dynasty, if it happens, will roll starting in 2021. If I’m wrong, and 2020 LSU makes the CFP, then get out the way, because Orgeron will steamroll everyone.

"The human joystick" Kadarius Toney announced he is returning for his senior year. There was some smoke that he would quit football and focus on his music career. He just dropped an album under his stage name Yung Joka
