Arky, the Tide has been overcoming the referee bias forever. As the Bear said, you’ve got to beat the other team and the refs sometimes

How do you review a play and still rule it intentional grounding when it was clearly a backwards pass? Only thing that is in dispute is who should get the ball and where.

SEC office officiating phone line, extension 2, they refuse to answer the phone

I've chewed them out on voicemail in a state of drunkenness, twice

The day is young

Like it says in the article, I’m at peace with the final call. Not because it was correct because it wasn’t. I sad as it was happening Arky got screwed.

Not because it made us 2-1.

I’m at peace with it because it will grind on Arky fans and SEC fans for a long time.

And the Auburn guy did

because the ref was blowing it dead

hence the issue outlined in the statement

So why punish the Arkansas player for correctly going after the ball since he knew it was a backwards pass, regardless of what the ref incorrectly called? It’s not our fault his football IQ was higher than the Auburn player’s. He actually made the right play.

The whole situation shows a need for a complete rule overhaul.

Should probably add being able to catch ball out of bounds as well to these new rule changes of yours...

Refs screwed up in a way that could not be corrected. This isn’t the first time it has happened and it won’t be the last. Of course the SEC will protect its officials. They always do.

None of this should be surprising.

I could understand the constant bitching if an Arky player made a game winning sack, interception, or catch and the refs screwed it up. Instead, they had to rely on a rare fluke mistake by AU.

Move on.

Ok, so they admit they fricked up. If it was just the one mistake then I don't see the point in disciplining the crew. Since they fricked up twice, they probably need to spend some time on a rules refresher.

Now it's time for everyone to move on. I hope the team has moved on and more concerned with Ole Miss right now or we'll be 1-3

It's like Arkansas fans completely ignore the fact that Auburn's #11 was in the best position to recover the ball when the whistle blew. Arkansas #7 had a player draped on him to prevent him getting the ball when the whistle first blew. #3 and #11 both obviously let up and slowed down on the play and that is why it wasn't obvious continuation on the play. Without the whistle Auburn most likely recovers the backwards pass and has to scramble to get the FG team on in less than 25 seconds.

So then why does the continuation rule even exist if one team can purposely not continue playing to loophole the rule? And why is there such a thing as a late hit after the whistle if theoretically every play can continue after the whistle? It's very convoluted.

Excuses, excuses, excuses.

The SEC Office can say whatever it wants, but everyone knows Arkansas won the game, so it really doesn't matter what they say.
